Anfield Pitch

What is up with the pitch? 2 games in a row now it's looked like an absolute bog.

Or am I being too harsh?

Been a bog for quite a while now. Not sure why most of RAWK had a go at Rodgers for his comments on it - it's absolutely atrocious. However, it did have a hand in Markovic's goal. ;D

It's being ripped up in the summer and a new pitch is being installed. Long overdue I think, for a few years either side of 2010 our pitch was immaculate.

Nope your right, the worst it's been for years. At first when the manager moaned about it I thought he was crying over spilt milk but as more games are played on it, it's getting worse and worse.

How did it even end up like this? It's been great for a long time, and has just gone to shit recently.
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

Apart from probably Arsenal's it was the best pitch in the league for years. This season it's been progressively getting worse. It's a real factor given the type of football we try to play.

It hasn't been relaid in ages, has it? It happens. We've played a lot more games on it this season than we have in recent years. Plus I believe the weather has been particularly brutal over there the last few months?

I'm not sure the amount of games or weather are too much of an issue, as we've had a better pitch at this time of year after CL footy and shite weather before.

Age of the pitch is probably an issue, I think we need to sort the irrigation out too, so is a little more than just a simple relay which will be happening this summer I believe.

Its been shocking for a while. Massive shame because I've always thought our surface to be the best in the league.

It does need sorting in the Summer

Where's Anifield? :P

A few were up in arms when Brendan criticised the pitch earlier this season but he has been proved right. Still, the bobble on Markovic's goal didn't harm us last night ;D

Gives us an advantage when playing the likes of Chelsea, Man United, Man City and Arsenal at home. Prepares us when we have to travel the Sunderland, Hull, Burnley and Everton.

If they're relaying it, it's probably not been getting the VIP treatment of old. Saying that though, they'll have to replace patches soon as it's looking like bare mud in parts.

im not sure if im biting but its a disadvantage whenever we play at home because of the techinal football we play , now in terms of playing football playing away is advantageous because just about every team has a better pitch than us.

They're motorised I think so continually go up and down the length. We've used them for years which is why we've had a great pitch until this season - which I guess is down to it being a fairly old pitch.

Don't think that will affect the pitch, being as the sun mostly shines over the Centenary Stand.
