Was just going through the thing on the sky site. Everything was kept the same (as most channels are crap) and at the end was a £200 set up fee :o

Can anyone help?

I am watching sky and then suddenly it automatically goes to the 'Services' section.  I'm not touching the controller and pressing the 'Services' button.  Yet it keeps automatically taking me to it, so I can't watch the TV as it keeps doing it constantly.

Has anyone had this issue?

Could do with help here.

I've paid just on £400 for sky q with 4 boxes to be installed in Feb and it'll be £95 s mint (£30 cheaper than I pay now) for everything however I'm thinking I should have cancelled and bought as a new customer in the wife's name.

I assume the answer is yes, but would I get a better deal doing this and should I ring up and cancel the install to see if they negotiate a better deal.

I assume it's not just a wonky remote? Take the batteries out etc

tired to do that when they did the whole bundle for around £40 late last year but was told that my wife couldn't set up a new account as there was an active (30 days notice period) account located at the address. I argued with them by asking if the account was with the person or the address and I was told person but still couldn't sign up as open account at the same address.

You 100% can. I did it with the ex at my old place. Cancelled it in my name, the next day ordered it in her name. No problems at all.

If they stopped being twats and refusing to match new customer offers when you flat out tell them you'll just cancel and start in a new name they wouldn't have this issue.

I thought it would be the case you can, as I said the account is with the person not address but she flat out refused to accept and said I would have to wait until the 30 days was up. Was offered a deal to upgrade to Q with box sets and fibre for less than what we were currently paying so I got what I wanted in the end.

What deal did you get in the end pal.

Did you have to pay any installation fees.

Sorry, missed this. This is what we got....

our existing deal was

Sky Original + sports, unlimited broadband and line rental for £74.90 a month.

I cancelled yesterday and attempted to sign my wife for the new deal today but have been told that's not possible. After nearly an hour and a half on the online chat I'm renewing my contract with the following....

Sky Q 1tb box (free box) £15 install and Sky MS £12 a month. Box sets and Sports 50% off. Sky Fibre £10 a month with £50 set up.

So all in all, £72 a month for 12 months but now have sky Q, box sets (and sports) and fibre.

obv not as good as the new sign up deal which we cant get for 30days and I think it expires in 5, but a lot better than what we had and no messing around of waiting 30 days, disconnecting and then getting it back up.

No longer have mine set to 4k 10 or 8 bit it just does not work for normal TV.
Keep getting a black screen when watching anything that is not 4k.  Set to 1080p and this does not happen.
If you look on the sky forums this is a major issue and sky refuse to blame the box.  They are saying its TV issues.   Nightmare!!!

I could be getting Q for free for a year with my new tele.  Is there enough 4K content on it to make it worthwhile or should I not bother?  I've got all regular HD channels as it is plus Kodi and a HTPC/NAS at the minute.

Think there is only the football on in 4k at the moment on there , I've tended to watch 4k stuff on you tube which you don't need sky for of course . But if your getting it free then it's a great upgrade on amything out there , especially the portability of the skyq mini boxes . Is it the LG offer your getting ? If so isn't it for 6 months , what happens after that subscription wise ?

Lots of stuff on the boxsets and movies.  There is a 4k tab now for content.

turned 4k off my box as I keep getting a blank screen when watching normal TV,  lots of complaints on the sky forum about it.

That's the set I'm getting with the 12 month offer.  If I do get it I won't be paying anything extra for the footy etc and I'll be fucking it off once the offer is up.  Just can't decide whether or not to bother.

My Multiscreen box in the bedroom kept losing the connection every 3 mins last night.  In the end I re-booted the main box then the booster and finally the mini.  It's great when it works.  Pain in the arse when it does not..

My Sky Q mini box keeps freezing.  The main screen just goes black and the programme appears in the little box inset in the screen.  You can't turn it off, over or anything and have to switch it off from the mains.

The box is in the kitchen so is a fair distance from the main box and therefore the installers hardwired it, which I was pleased about as I assumed i'd get a faultless service and also great wifi in the part of the house I never used to.   It's fantastic when it works, but having to unplug the whole thing every other day and take it to the front room where I have to sync it with the Sky wifi hub (by pressing the WPS buttons on both boxes!) is a real pain!

I would understand it dropping out if it was connected via wifi, but as it's hardwired it should be fairly stable shouldn't it?

You won't get any additional wifi benefits as the main box creates it own network (you can't use) to connect to the mini boxes.   Surprised they hardwired this would have thought the would have installed the booster that is provided.

Do you use 4k?  Could explain the blank screen,  had the same thing yesterday was showing a friend 4k forgot to change back to 1080p and every 2 mins screen goes blank for a few seconds.

Surprised to read that we won't get any wifi benefits as we never used to get wifi at all in the kitchen (the main Sky router is in the front room right at the front of the house and the kitchen is downstairs and right at the back of the house!) but now we do, we get very strong and fast wifi in the kitchen when the mini box is working!!
Nope, don't have 4k television in there.  It's a small(ish) TV, and supports HD but nothing fancy whatsoever!

Sky - Believe In Better (believe in less channels and less content - with more repeats for more money)

I'll be cancelling my subscription as soon as this happens. Had enough now. I watch discovery more than any other channel.

Ah!  You're with Virgin.  The Sky Q boxes only work as a wifi hub with Sky Broadband (which is what I have!)

I don't suppose anyone has any ideas why a hardwired Sky Q mini box keeps freezing do they?  Having to get someone out is a real pain as you have to wait in all day!

Ive just put my notice in with sky.

I have the full package, phone, broadband ( no Sky Q ) and I was paying 53 a month.

Now the 12 months deal is up they are putting it up to 117 !!!!

No way on earth is it worth anything like that money !

already had them on saying they will lower it to 74.60 and now im down to 65.

I get this little mini screen once a week or so , the remote won't do anything it appears to freeze though the inset picture is fine. I just unplug and replug and that does the trick ...deffo has a fair few glitches was losing the whole thing on the mini when first installed second guy comes out fits a sky booster and it's been pretty much ok ....do get the odd blue screen with " connectivity. " problems but literally comes back on in a few seconds . I too have a virgin media hub and the engineers do seem to blame it .

According to the second engineer who knew his stuff they are trialling the use of the ring main sockets circuits to transfer the data around instead of wi fi but it's not been given the go ahead yet but there is a position on the back of the mini boxes to plug into once its available

No Im shocked they believe anyone would even think about paying 117 a month for the full package.

I also find it laughable that they have given me a discount of nearly 45% on the full price package but a 20% increase on my current price.

Anyway they have been on and amazingly they have now relented and ive now agreed another 12 months at the same price I was on 53 a month for the full works ( not Q ).

job done.

Its crazy how often this happens.  I thought these bugs would of been sorted by now.

I get the mini box freeze too often feel like a Beta tester

I could be getting Q for free for a year with my new tele.  Is there enough 4K content on it to make it worthwhile or should I not bother?  I've got all regular HD channels as it is plus Kodi and a HTPC/NAS at the minute.

Not gonna bother with this shit after all.  Netflix/Amazon Prime, plus DL's will do me.  If anyone wants the code for it though send me a PM and it's yours once LG send it to me.

Edit: Now got this code and it's a load of shite.  12 months on the shittest package with no HD etc then 20 odd quid a month for 6 months with a £60 set up cost.  Typical Sky bullshit.  Free? my arse.

Going to be travelling for work so thinking of signing up for sky Go Extra.

Can I download stuff off my sky+ so that I can watch offline? Or does it just give access to catchup tv and box sets to download?

Hiya lads. I've got a few friends and family codes left available for Sky if anyone wants one. Better someone on here gets a discount than they just sit in my inbox.

Full package - sports, box sets, all the entertainment channels and Sky Movies and it's £35 p/m or all that and Sky Q for 47 a month. Better in our pockets. Gotta be a new subscriber so you cancel and take it out in the other halfs name.

PM us with an email address if you want one. Got 6 I think.
Know this was a long time ago but let me know if you still have these codes mate.
