I signed up in early September 2003 to get some travel tips for Olimpija Ljubljana away in a very early UEFA cup round.

The Horse burgers were lovely as were the brass

It was 12 years ago and I've grown up since then.

What with England crashing out last night in such dramatic, nay soap opera-esque, fashion, I am sure that Deirdre would appreciate me dedicating my 20,000th post to her epic skill at capturing drama so eloquently and professionally. I am equally sure that she too shed genuine tears last night at the sight of Bassett's attempted block sailing into the net to crush the dreams of many. Myself included. Deirdre, I salute thee!

As this is a LFC web site I always try to combine my landmark Deirdre posts with our club.

So, to Celebrate 16,000 posts, I decided to honor the great woman along with three of my all-time favorite players. All LFC European royalty with a winners medal, and each bear a striking resemblance to Deirdre Anne Barlow. Some of the likenesses are so uncanny I seriously doubt any of you have ever picked up on them before, i certainly didn't!!

1. Nobody can deny that our 80's Deirdre could have sat on the bench in the European Cup final in 84 and nobody would have guessed it wasn't Bob Bolder!!

2. If Igor Biscan had a biography,he would recite the tale of how, while growing up in Zagreb he may have been called 'Deirdre' by the other kids on his school football team. Igor says he would have "loved the Attention".

3. Probably the most striking Deirdre lookalike we have ever had playing for us was Pegguy Arphexad. Peggy used to joke about taking up smoking to carry Deirdre off even further, but has since confessed this revelation cost him his dream move to Real Madrid.

Lots of the lost posts are in hidden boards such as the Euros. Also a fair number of posts are collateral damage when a topic is deleted. Mods suffer more than most as we tend to end up posting in said topics before giving up and deleting them.
