:) Only messing mate., Each to their own and all that

Although, what did you mean by your Aiden Gillen and Obama comment?

Ah just that I havent liked any performance of his since he was Tommy Carcetti in the Wire (so 2008ish). His voice and way of speaking his lines seems so off things in since then. Like he forgot how to be Irish or something. Game of Thrones and Love/Hate were the worst offenders but he was a bit odd in Peaky Blinders too.

So a bit late to the show, but we're up to the final episode of S1 of Broadchurch. Obviously I have avoided spoilers for it, somehow, after all these years but one thing I picked up is that there is a S2 and S3 but apparently they are shit? Is that correct? S1 is fantastic, really enjoyed it.

If you enjoyed series one so much why not just watch them yourself and make your own mind up? You may have a completely different take on what others have said about it. We are all different in how we see things and I hate to see people put off watching shows just because some didn't like them.

I don't remember Broadchurch seasons 2/3 being a big step down. All pretty solid work, iirc.

I'd say season 1 was the best, but 2 and 3 are still well worth a watch.

100%. Series 2 & 3 are still better than most stuff around at the moment

I use this site a lot.

General consensus seems to be that season one was the best but the tail-off is gradual rather than a sharp decline.

i like chris rock and his old stuff was great, but i couldn't get past 10 minutes of this one......i dunno, it felt off to me....the constant repetition and delivery jarred a lot.

I did see the will smith bit on Twitter separately which i thought was funny.

I put the 2020/21 Kevin Hart stand up from his house on instead, which in contrast to Chris Rock was chalk and cheese.

Watched a couple of episodes of 'Fleishman is in trouble' on Disney Plus. I think it's excellent. Jesse Eisenberg is the lead and it's about a couple that got divorced and how he navigates life with his kids etc. Great writing, acting and funny at times too.
Just hot on this binged a few episodes and really engaged in the whole thing. Acting is super.

I'm enjoying Extrapolations and dealing with climate change in the future.

I enjoyed this week's a simple story of a disabled gangster and his driver having to go across India to deliver something with the police etc trying to track them down but people can only travel at night because India is so hot in the daytime now it will kill you within minutes.

A lot of it was just the two of them chatting about things

I tried re-watching Breaking Bad but I couldn't get through half the first season. Walter was such a prick to everyone, I ended up really not liking him at all. Better Caul Saul though was definitely better second time around.

Started watching 'Our Flag Means Death' on the BBC, based in thr true story of an 18th century Upper class landowner who fancied being a pirate. Seen the first episode and it's decent, if not laugh out loud funny. Plus Rhys Darby is always great.

Also been watching the US version of ghosts, which isn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Obviously not as good as the UK version but with it being an American show, it's easy to differentiate it from the UK with the ghosts being part of American history.

Was searching for a specific Ghosts thread and failed, but just want to agree with you on both points. Enjoy them both, though my family can’t accept I like Ghosts US. I like it because it’s not identical to the UK version. My wife says they spend too much time on exposition where the UK just rolls with it.

I've been watching Crown Court on Talking pictures and I'm completely hooked! It's on three times a week during the day and I'm having to record it and watch it in the evening so as not to be distracted whilst working from home. :-X

There really were some high quality british shows created in the 70's,don't think Crown Court was ever shown here in Finland but i do still remember as a kid loving Onedin Line,Upstairs Downstairs and later All Creatures Great & Small and Sapphire & Steel.

Latter two i have re-watched a couple of times already, thinking of binging the first two to see if i still like them,a big undertaking though as they ran for years.

The other one that is currently replaying on Sky Arts is 'Tales of the Unexpected' which like Crown Court had a fantastic theme tune. I forgot that Roald Dahl provides an introduction to many of the episodes with some background, which gives you a fascinating insight into the odd workings of his mind! I found the 'William and Mary' episode in which William's brain is kept alive after his death particularly disturbing.

:) Thanks for the tips mate, think that one's another not ever shown here in my neck of the woods, think i'd remember Roald Dahl's introductions at least but who knows as it's been a while!
Think we had 2 channels back then and the best entertainments were Dallas and the german police procedurals Der Alte,Tatort and Derrick.

I do enjoy the odd episode of Tales of the Unexpected. Some are too absurd for words but there are some gems which are well-crafted dramas.

I wanted to like Joe Lycett's Friday night show because I liked him before he got everywhere, but Christ it's try-hard. It's like someone's been asked to answer the essay question "what was edgy in the late 90s?"
If I were a linesman, I would execute defenders who applauded my offsides.
