Great player just didn't fit in to Klopp's plans, all the best to him a real professional and gentleman.

A bit gutted to be honest. While he was not the best midfielder we had, I always thought that he punched above his weight in crucial instances. Also, his performance in the Euros were absolutely outstanding. When I look at the other players in the team of the Euros:  http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/10498790/joe-allen-and-aaron-ramsey-make-uefas-euro-2016-team, I would have to say that we are not getting the best money for him. I mean, look at the midfielders in that line-up - they are never going to be sold for anything less than 40M in this crazy market. Particularly when you feel that his best years is ahead of him.

Let's be honest, if £13m was such an incredible bargain, there'd be a lot more clubs than just Stoke bidding for him. £13m is good money for us with only 1 year left on his contract.

Used to have the biggest agenda against him ever since he missed the sitter against Everton in the 3-3. True professional though, 13 million is a good price. Good luck wee joe.

Good luck to Joe, a good player and a good person. Maybe unlucky with a few injuries at the wrong moment but always did his job, quietly and professionally. Hope they appreciate him at Stoke.

Love him as a player.  Such a shame he has to be sold but we're quite centre midfield heavy now.  Hope he does well except for playing against us!

Maybe he didn't go for £40m because he's not remotely worth it? Just a thought ...

Being MOTM in a game doesn't increase your transfer value by £20m if you're average, and being included in the team of the tournament doesn't suddenly mean your value increases by £20m either.

It's because of his Euro performances that we even got a decent offer for him. If he was shite, he'd probably be going for 8m

Good luck Joe. Think if he had more goals to his game he wouldn't be going.

No goals, even less assists and no size. It's not hard to see why Klopp wasn't willing to give him regular starts.

Good luck to him. Always looked like he gave his all in the shirt.

His first couple of months with us was fantastic, then we rarely saw the best of him because of injuries, competition and a bit out of form. But some weeks in that 13/14 season and last season he was superb once again. Worked his socks off, good pro, what more can you for? Nothing bad to say about him, just wish him the best of luck in the future.

He was very good in his first few months at the club and enjoyed a bit of a renaissance towards the end of last season. Everything else in between was very, very underwhelming. Think it's a good move for all parties.

Good luck to him.

A bit disappointing, but good luck to the lad.

Obviously didn't fit Klopp's ideas, so onwards and upwards!

I was, what's your point?

Looking back now 13/14 flattered a few of our players. Allen was a decent option at times, though an underwhelming and nigh on irrelevant sub at others. For someone who came as our main signing in 12/13 - and who actually started off brightly - his career with us was a disappointment.

A shame because if he'd shown his recent form consistently during his time here then I reckon we wouldn't be bidding him farewell. Klopp clearly has other plans, Joe needs to be playing regularly, a good deal all round especially when he's entering the last year of his contract. It's just a pity it had to be Stoke. But anyway, perhaps he'll have a good influence on the hairy-palmed knuckledraggers ;)

Good luck Joe and his chickens, thanks for being a decent bloke and on more than one occasion a very good player for us. YNWA
