all these players/ clubs self isolating:

Good it's the correct thing to do but I would have thought that premier league clubs have enough funds to pay for testing.  Is private testing even available or do they have to use the public health system?

BBC World Service

In Germany, the executive committee of the DFL (German Football League) has proposed the suspension of Bundesliga and German second division games from 17 March to 2 April.

But as it stands this weekend's games behind closed doors will go ahead as planned.

I don’t believe this for a minute, it sounds like common sense.

how can you get games done when players are showing symptoms?

I'd play with one leg

They'll have to wait for the inevitable cancelation of the euros to make and concrete decision. Cancelling the Nations League next season would help free up the fixture list too.

If this results in us not being awarded the league then I'm fucking done with football.

Remember footie tournaments as a kid? Where you'd play 3/4/5 games in one day? Make them do that behind closed doors. ANYTHING to get the PL season finished.

Have to hope this is true.

In reality it you offered a void season a reckon 17 of the 20 teams would be up for it

Anybody in the bottom half - it means no relegation

It would be status quo so spurs and chelsea would be happy  and keep CL places

Arsenal have no chance of top 4

In a normal season Man Utd would have an issue but it's probably worth it for them to see us not win. + if the city ban holds up they may get the CL spot anyway.

It really is us,Leicester and Sheffield Utd who would be fighting against the tide...

Not sure about no chance, if the City game was a draw or better you'd have Chelsea under pressure - they still have to play City and Liverpool and would only be 5-6 points ahead.

Everton and City this I reckon. Possibly Arsenal instead of the Ev. But City will be nailed on to have asked for a cancellation. That's how they are these days.

Can't see how suspending matches now till April, May, June is going to help.
Government has already said thats when the peak is expected.

Should actually get games done asap.
I'd agree with that but we would have to accept that players can play with the disease otherwise games would just be postponed if 1 person in the entire staff reported symptoms...after all many of the spectators at a game would probably have the virus.

What about Leeds and others fighting promotion... Your solution only benefits us and the premier League.... The whole of football is affected here..

I'm aware of that but what do you suggest? I think the negative effects of relegation outweigh the positive effects of promotion. When it comes to the salaries and wages that Premier League teams are on, having to cut staff players/reduce the budget/loss of TV money.

There's just no way to be fair to everyone but this is most sensible way for me. I'm glad I'm not making the decisions.

Yes but then what? When things go back to normal the virus won't have magically disappeared.

That's the problem. What happens next season? If its not gone in June then how can it be gone in August? What about next winter? The PL needs an alternative system.

Once the Euro's are delayed then that free's up plenty of space to fit in maybe a set of playoff's or something where we can determine what the situation the league is in. I imagine the PL will be working up alternatives during any suspension period.

If 2 teams want the season cancelled its surely 2 teams from the relegation zone. A chance of a reprieve for them would be massive.

Next season you'd need to get rid of the EFL Cup[EFL Trophy for lower league clubs] & International breaks to free up weekends & midweeks to allow leagues to catch up
