Finally succumbed and bought it, £20 new so not too bad. Waiting for my mates order to come so we'll start together. Liking the look of that tank-ish class.

Oooooh I really want to get this now been watching some gameplay vids.

I found it quite tough to get into Borderlands.

Do you need to have played the first, in your opinion?

You're currently making your way to Liarsberg on the Southern Shelf. The first part of the game is a bit slow as you get used to the controls and the general feel of the game. Did you download the Mechromancer pack before you started? If you didn't, you get the Gearbox Gun-pack with it, meaning you start the game with a sniper rifle, Assault Rifle and SMG, so you don't have to mess around with the terrible weapons you find at the start.

No, in my opinion. Of course it gives you the back-story to the main NPC's you'll meet in the game (Roland, Lillith, Brick and Mordecai), but this game could have been released as a stand-alone title rather than a sequel, and it would still have worked. It's just a magnificent bit of computer gaming.

got outta the snow and into a little town only to be sent back out into the wilderness again!

got a gun that is workable had a few good fights, bought a load of shields

What are the perks of playing this co-op? I got it for Christmas and had a couple of goes on it over the course of the first couple of weeks but have barely touched it since - I gather that my brother is looking at picking it up and so I was planning on playing co-op with him.

It the game best played co-op with a friend/group throughout or dipping in/out?

I've never really been much of an online gamer aside form easy dip-ins like Pro Evo/F1, etc.

Enemies are tougher, you get better stuff when they die, but in general it's just way more fun and the special skills go really well together.

I only ever seem to get shields from the codes when I really want an awesome sniper rifle, I'm not bitching I do appreciate the codes and I can always sell the shields

I have a couple of quality low-ranked sniper rifles I can let you have. I was saving them for the new character, but after seeing his skill-tree, they'll be useless.
