Jota will have a boot on for two weeks and will then they will assess it.

Doesn’t look great for him making the euros.

You’d imagine another two weeks until he can start training… and then they’re already a couple of games in ….
It certainly sounds like it was the (accidental) stamp that got Bailly the caution that injured Jota.  At the time I had my heart in my mouth thinking he would have to go off.

I'm normally happy for our players to miss internationals but I think Jota would benefit from playing in the Euros as he's not played much this season and it's great experience for him.

With Kelleher disappearing from the bench today we're in the territory of naming an XI of injured players.

so, let me get this straight:

We lose our starting CBs (VVD, Gomez and Matip), so we get Kabak and Davies to cover that position.

Then Davies gets injured without having played so far...

And now Kabak is injured too.

Fingers crossed Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams stay fit for the remaining two games :'( ;D

On whether Diogo Jota could miss the Euros and whether Ozan Kabak will return before the end of the season…

Diogo, I don’t know actually. As I said, it is not too serious but as always, you have to wait [to see] how it develops, how it heals. It is a little bone in the foot and we have to see. I think he will now be in a boot for two weeks or so and when he gets out of the boot then the doctors will check how it developed, how far the progress is, so I don’t know that but of course, it is not a top moment. Ozan, no. No for the long-term [injuries], Ozan isn’t in the long-term [injuries] but nobody is coming back, I think.

Is there a website that lists the amount of games missed by each of our players this season?  Now we've finished third I want to see just how ridiculous it's been.

The main ones (league only):

Van Dijk (33 games missed)
Gomez (31)
Matip (28)
Keita (28)
Jota (19)
Henderson (17)
Thiago (14)
Fabinho (8 )

All bar Keita would have been players who’d have been relied on heavily and would have racked up loads of appearances through the season.

People rightly go on about the central defensive issues, but our midfield was destroyed too with injuries and having to shift players back.

Just an amazing achievment to finish 3rd.

Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all then suffered serious injuries, which limited them to just 22 league appearances combined in 2020-21.

That trio are on course to return to the fold during different stages of pre-season, with Gomez the most advanced in terms of his rehabilitation.

Surprising that is, as I thought the idea was to give Matip a longer break than he likely needed to try and get him over all of his problems. So even though he was ruled out for the season, I didn't think he was that badly injured.

Was he at the match on Sunday?

It's absolutely perfect timing :) means they get a full pre season and the time they'd have their minutes managed will be in preseason games where they can make as many mistakes as they want rather than in season games that actually matter.

Almost. Table shows Sadio and Bob missed 3 each, Mo missed 1,although I think Mo and Sadio were entirely covid related, not injuries.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been ruled out of Euro 2020 and will depart England’s camp on Thursday night.

A medical assessment earlier in the day revealed that the Liverpool defender, 22, had suffered a grade two quad tear during England’s 1-0 friendly win over Austria.

The scan confirmed the devastated defender’s worst fears and he will now withdraw from England’s squad for the tournament. He faces a recovery period of between four to six weeks.

In the summary of the weekend games on the radio it referenced Thiago's injury but said that he could be in contention to play against Brentford next weekend.  I'm not sure if that was based on insider information though or just guesswork.

Bobby expected to be back in training this week and Trent a short-term illness.  Neco is not expected to be available for the League Cup game which is a shame.

Thiago out for the weekend and having a scan. Sounds worrying that me may be out for a few weeks from Pep's press conference.

Trent out for Norwich, but Bobby is starting training again this weekend.

Trent, Bobby and Neco all trained yesterday.  No Naby or Thiago (or Harvey, of course).

Klopp said this about Naby yesterday: "Naby probably not. It's not a serious thing but we have to wait until the pain settles, pretty much. We will see about that."

Thiago back in team training possibly later in the week.

Fabinho could be fit for Saturday's game.

That's a shame for Milly.  Three games in a week was always going to be a lot to ask of him but needs must.

Excellent news about the other three.

I saw a photo of Harvey doing the rounds, watching the Man U game in his flip flops.  Has anyone heard any whispers about how he's getting on?

I suspect we'll see the following:

-Fabinho back for Brighton this weekend
-Thiago back for Atletico or West Ham next week
-Milner and Keita back for Arsenal after the International break

Let's hope no more midfielders are injured before that Arsenal game as it will be nice to all of them available for selection, bar Elliot.  The run up to the Christmas period is always a busy time so we'll need everyone we can get for those games.
