Andy Massey left as Head of Medical services in the summer with Jim Moxon being promoted from within, Chris Morgan was then brought back in as Physio with a few others leaving I think. I don't know what other changes were made but I doubt much has changed procedure wise with Jim Moxon working at the club before Andy left. The players coming back slowly is just the natural history of how their injuries have been progressing rather than anything else.

When is Jota back??

It was 6-8 weeks (I think) from 9th Dec so taking that exactly it'd be any time 20th Jan to 3rd Feb.

Put something together from Transfermarkt stats to highlight how often are players are available to play versus how often they get injured.

No surprises to see Matip, Naby, Ox and Joe Gomez at the bottom of this list and unavailable for at least a third of a season.

Naby clearly picks up a lot of niggly injuries, whilst Gomez injuries tend to be more severe. Matip and Ox are regularly injured, missing a significant number of games each time they are out.

Gini and Robbo are our iron men.

Stats are for appearances/injuries at LFC only with the exception of Kabak and Davies where I took stats from Schalke and Preston respectively.

Players in grey have less than 50 appearances so their sample size didn’t feel large enough.

Liverpool will need to check on the latest condition of James Milner (hamstring) and Fabinho (muscle), but both players were absent from the team training session that preceded their flight to Budapest.

Ben Davies, Divock Origi and Caoimhin Kelleher did participate in the workout, however, having missed Saturday's fixture at Leicester City with respective knocks.

Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip remain, of course, long-term absentees, while Diogo Jota is not yet ready to restart team training.

Is that official on Davies?  Thought he was back in contention, but I guess not.

Apologies, my mistake.

Ben Davies, a deadline day signing from Preston North End for an initial fee of £500,000, was available for Sunday’s game but didn’t even make the bench. He has yet to make his debut as he battles to prove to Klopp he’s ready.

The way he implied it in his press conference there were players with knocks with which they would have to take a last minute decision with. With the number of games we have coming up I suspect he not going to take chances with certain people, depending on the circumstances.

That's the thing that amazes me about people's reactions. I understand completely that people are disappointed with the season but when you look at the fact that will still have an outside chance, I think that says a lot for the squad in what has been a seriously challenging season. When you consider the factors we've had to overcome during the season that makes me optimistic for the future.

Klopp on the injuries: “With Millie, it’s not a big thing but I expect him back maybe next week or something like that. With Ozan, we don’t know exactly, we have to wait and see a little bit. It’s a muscle thing, it happened without any real intensity but still serious enough for not being involved. The same for Ben Davies.”

The BBC have Kabak down as not being injured anymore.

Injured players: Ben Davies (muscle), Virgil van Dijk (knee), Joe Gomez (knee), Jordan Henderson (hip), Caoimhin Kelleher (abdominal), Naby Keita (knock), Joel Matip (ankle), James Milner (knock), Divock Origi (muscle)
I'm not sure if that's just because we've got so many injuries that they overlooked him or there's been an announcement somewhere to say he's back in contention.  If it's the latter I can't find it anywhere.

He said last week it's up to the national team. Southgate might want him for his leadership even if he doesn't play. The likes of Rice and Grealish in a similar boat in midfield.

Jürgen Klopp has confirmed Diogo Jota will not play again for Liverpool this season.

The forward sustained a foot injury during the 4-2 win over Manchester United on Thursday night and will now be sidelined for the Reds’ remaining Premier League games.

“No good thing without a bad thing – so, we won at Manchester United but Diogo got something with the bone,” the manager told Sky Sports before today’s clash with West Bromwich Albion.

“Not too serious but serious enough to end the season. That’s it.”

Klopp was able to report positive news on James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, however, with both midfielders aiming for a potential return against Burnley next week.

“Oxlade is not in the squad, was ill a few days. We decided not to take him here just to give him now another session today that he is ready for Wednesday,” he added.

“Millie hopefully could be ready for Wednesday. We take what we get.”

Jota will have a boot on for two weeks and will then they will assess it.

Doesn’t look great for him making the euros.

You’d imagine another two weeks until he can start training… and then they’re already a couple of games in ….
