Well. Awful performance first half by the standards we should be setting, edge it at half time leading undeservedly 2-1 after going behind but eventually our class told and two very important goals for Carroll and Downing.

Really hope that this gives the two lads a platform to build from and boost their confidence.

FA Cup Round 4, here we come. Job done.

So ends 5-1 , Downing and Carroll getting on the score sheet , maxi playing a full 90, Aurelio playing a full 70. 2nd half is where we showed through. All in all decent. Coates was ok still looking a bit nervous but you can expect that. Bellamy Motm really. Gerrard a calming controlling figure. Spearing seemed to get overrun in the 1st but came back into it nicely. Shevley also had a good game.

Decent and onto the next game!

Happy about Carroll. He needed a goal and got it with his first touch. Hopefully he will start scoring on a regular basis from now.

When Shelvey scored it took a moment for me to realise that was his first Liverpool goal. He has been looking so comfortable out there.

If both Bellamy and Gerrard can stay fit; Suarez's absence wont have a big impact.

Game of two halves tonight.

Perfomance wasnt there because we had about 7/8 players who havent played regular football. They were going to be a bit sluggish at times. That said good goals from Shelvey, Caroll and Downing which should hopefully give some confidence.

Good for Carroll and Downing to get a goal each. Very bad 1st half, but decent 2nd half. We controlled 2nd half and played as you have to against a much weaker team. Hope we can carry the chance conversion of 2nd half into Premier League.

main positives were gerrard getting 90 minutes, bellamy looking boss on the right, downing and carroll both score and hopefully that will improve there confidence and shelvey getting on the scoresheet too..

A better second half performance after the nerves may have been kicking in.
The full-time return of our captain.
And to cap it off, a 5-1 win. Albeit against Oldham.

as great as that result is, and as much needed as some of them goals were, there's a shit storm waiting to come out over the incident with Adeyemi. something went on there and you could see that the kid was very shaken by it.

stroll in the park. never going to be a classic performance and frankly i'd rather we save the classic performances for bigger games.

fair play to oldham, they did well but result never in doubt.

hopefully carroll and downing can use this to turn in better performances from now on.

Performance not great in the first back four played like strangers, mom Bellamy for me, and seriously good to see those two maligned players score at the Kop end.
