What's his Juve buy-out clause? I assume he has one as that was a sticking point for him here wasn't it?
Rafa Benitez: "I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager. Thank you so much once more and always remember: You'll never walk alone."

Because he left on a free. I think it's a bit strong to say he 'shit on Liverpool' because of it.

At the end of the day, I wasn't bothered him leaving. Would've been nice to get a fee for him, but I can't imagine him getting many matches if he'd stayed.

Yep. - had nice hair, but the speed and turning circle of an oil tanker - wouldnt have made it into this team

So he's been completely useless at Juventus because they have no need for him and is now on United's radar, wanted by Solskjaer of all people? That's when you know things aren't going well for you. His career has fallen off a cliff and I can't say that I feel sorry for him.

If they're interested I wouldn't be surprised if it's to get one over on us somehow, I'm not sure most of the country realises that we weren't particularly fussed on Can and that we're actually much better off without him. I'm pretty sure part of the reason they spent so much on Maguire was because we spent so much on van Dijk and they wanted to one up us.

He is available on loan or to buy?

He might just be desperate enough to go anywhere, as I am sure he will want to go to the Euros.

I can't imagine Juve would want to loan him. They brought him in purely as a commodity to sell on.

Good for Emre, hopefully Dortmund is a far better fit than Juventus.

I dont watch either Dortmund or Juve but would imagine Dortmund style might be more action/pace so would think not the greatest fit for his playing style.

Anyway, good that he got a move to another top tier club. He will be in his home league, he is a good player (otherwise wouldn't be playing for kind of clubs he has played for) who still might have a shot at making his NT.

And pretty sure, Dortmund would have checked with Klopp (as a referral) before even taking him on loan, so the boss rates him as a reasonable player as well.

Why are (some) people still upset that someone who wasn't quite getting as much football as he wanted already, and who saw that new midfielders who were incoming in our side were going to turn him into a rotation player, decided to leave? He went for the most prestigious club he could hope for, and it didn't work out for him. So he's now moving to a club which is probably more appropriate to his pedigree as a player. Good for him.

Might I add he fulfilled his contract and didn’t say a bad word us before or after his transfer, too.

It's an exciting destination for him, maybe about his level too? In effect, slightly below the very best teams just like us when he was a first team regular. We'll see.

I think the Can dislike comes from denying us a transfer fee. Ultimately however we signed him for so little because he had various clauses in his contract to allow him to leave his previous club, so it's no surprise he ran his contract down really.

We signed him for 10m IIRC and he was on something like 30 or 35k, and I think he gave us decent value for that money (goal against Watford that got us CL qualification).
Don't think people should get upset that he left for free.

Emre Can from an interview with Kicker this weekend, on his move to BVB:

"I know that Borussia Dortmund had contact with Jürgen Klopp. I am pleased that Jürgen, one of the greatest coaches in the world, must have made a positive judgment about me. After a good two and a half years of working together, he knows me very well.”

Also:

“I had three Premier League deals available, including one from Manchester United. But I didn't think about that for a second because of my Liverpool past.”

I always liked Emre can, i know some people were upset that he left on a free transfer but he never caused any issues with the squad, he's a good player and hope he does well at Bvb.

Blimey, didn’t realise he had thyroid cancer just after he left us.

Juventus treated him like dirt knowing that
“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
“Generosity always pays off. Generosity in your effort, in your work, in your kindness, in the way you look after people and take care of people. In the long run, if you are generous with a heart, and with humanity, it always pays off.”

We'll always have his amazing shithousery towards the end in that 2:1 win against Leicester. 2 Mo goals, maybe Phil's last game at Anfield?

Smart job from Can getting it on target to at least test them though! (and they failed miserably)

he had a bit of a rought time at Dortmund for a while, but he’s really come through now, and is playing very well. If Dortmund hang on and win the league, Emre will be a big part of the reason why.
