On this day we were losing the Champions League Final in Athens.

The worst day of my life as a LFC fan.

Heartbreaking. :(

I was quite sanguine about it afterwards. As you say 2005 was meant to be, 2007 we were a better team and should have won but because it was Milan again it just felt like fate. I haven't dwelt on it much either and have barely seen any footage of it since. What kills now is that at the time it really felt like there would be plenty more opportunities to win it again. The semi defeat in 2008 hurt more bizarrely.

Most nervous I've ever been was semi final 08

07 I felt we got better and they got worse. I'm sure Milan feel ripped off about 05

I feel old taking in that mate - 9 years? it just doesn't seems like it - but have a big smile on my face from some great memories and times.

On November 4th 2010, Gerrard scored a hat trick versus Napoli.

I had a date that day with someone I really really liked. Didn't work out, never does, but at least Big G got a hat trick.

He actually scored a second half equaliser. Not quite so glorious!

His two hat tricks were the season before v Birmingham (Easter Saturday if that's what you're thinking of?) and Fulham away.

"Watched" Extra Time via Text Commentary in an Internet Cafe in Christchurch having got up early, gone to a Casino only to be told it wasn't being televised in new Zealand. Rang my Mum to commentate down the phone for a bit who broke news of Jordi Cruff's equaliser. She was no Jacqui Oatley!

It was like the most nerve wracking game of Football manager ever!

Alaves. Fuck me. Some of my first memories as a fan. I see they're right down on the wrong end of the 2nd division. Sort of a big team in L'pool's history when we think about it. Hope they can recover.
