Firmino goes from "a couple of games" out on December 23rd, out for 10 days - 2 weeks originally according to Jurgen, now he's not close to team training after feeling something again. Shambolic.
Add that to;
“Milner felt something, it doesn’t seem serious” - out for a month
“Virgil felt something, it doesn’t seem serious” - out for over a month.

The only thing more baffling than our inaction in the transfer market is how secretive and vague we seem to be about our injuries. We never seem to find out exactly what is keeping them out, and they just randomly start training again (and get reinjured).

If it is a hamstring issue then I'd be shocked if he's involved tomorrow, training or no training.

Yeah last thing we need is him out for a long time, if he's touch and go, no way should he be risked.

Did Klopp confirm it was hamstring or did James Pearce assume? I’d rather him not be risked anyway.

Not a clue mate. All we do is speculate these days whether it's about injuries, transfers, ownership etc. No one has any idea what the fuck is going on.

Seemed to be a very similar situation with him back between the West Ham and Forest games in October - tight hamstring, monitoring him day-to-day, late assessment etc. In that case, he didn't play against Forest. I'd be very surprised if he plays tomorrow.

You just have to ignore the club when it comes to injuries..if a player is out injured one week just be relieved if he plays again that season. Gordon must have been out 12 months now with the odd vague update.

Ok, let’s compile a list of players who have not missed a game with a muscle injury this season..

Alisson
Mo Salah
Curtis Jones (although he has had a stress fracture)
Diaz (out with a knee injury)

Can we think of anyone else who hasn’t missed a game with a muscle injury?

I seem to remember reading the other day Gomez hasn't missed a game through injury unavailability all season which could be true but seems really hard to believe

Plus he did an interview on the 28th saying he was about to start training 'probably tomorrow'

We really don't seem to have found a good balance between what the phsyio/medical side are doing (eg keeping players out of training) and the conditioning/coaching side (eg bringing jones back to full training and playing him, only for him to have a spell out where he can't train three whole times - at current count).

Couple that with our early reporting on diagnoses to Klopp. He seems to be told things aren't serious or are very minor (in Milner's case, that came immediately post-match so information was understandably limited at that point, but in the press conferences it seems like there's been a few occasions that he's been told things are minor only for the evidence afterwards to demonstrate that was wrong.

Yes whoever leaks the team list week in week out in an attempt to boost their social media profile needs to be metaphorically held incommunicado in the boot room for the duration of the season and if necessary the pre season too! There's a reason the lie ups are embargo'd before kick off.

So Bobby was initially a 10 day injury, but then came back and ‘felt something again’.

More incompetence.

Essential we don't mess up pre-season next time.

No global tours and and re-think the physical side of it with a lot of players 30+ who've been run into the ground at this point.

Use every excuse in the book to stop players going on any pointless internationals in June as well. That's done for Jota's season as Keita's afcon did a few years back.

It’s mad looking round our rivals for contrast…
City - some defensive injuries, Spurs one attacker out that’s it, Newcastle whole first team fit, Arsenal one major forward out that’s it, United whole first team fit

It’s just insane we’ve been in this spot for decent chunks of time for the last 3 years
It’s not remotely normal for a big club

As bad as the midfield is it's injuries that have killed us in terms of being off the pace for top 4.

City have been similarly out of sorts and age and games catching up with a few there. They always have 90%+ of players available though for any match so the drop off from last season less stark in terms of results so far.

I remember Fulham on the opening day and as soon as the team was released and you had a bench packed with kids and then Thiago goes off injured in that game. You think surely to goodness we need to do something here and this was early August.

Had Diaz and Jota stayed fit we'd have more goals and more points and would helped Nunez. Had Konate been fit it would have helped us defensively.

I think one of many reasons is our style of play. We need to work harder than others to win even against small teams. It will help if we can keep the ball better at the opponent own half. Nunez won't last long if we keep playing like we do now.
