Finally saw Aquaman and it was a bit of a mess, but kind of watchable?  I get the Flash Gordon comparisons but it was also a little like the Michael Bay Transformers movies for me.  The CGI was woeful in parts but Atlantis looked decent.  Black Manta, though, looked like a fucking Power Rangers villain.  Think the Aquaman character was way better in Justice League, similar to Hulk, don't think he's really that good a fit for solo movies.
Sit down, shock is better taken with bent knees.

The only thing I would have against Joaquin as the Joker would be the age. By the time Bruce is a prime Batman the Joker would be nearing 65.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Even if the film is shit, he'll do well.

Just curious about those steps in the first 10 seconds of that trailer. I think I've seen those before. Are those the same steps from The Exorcist?

I thought Exorcist when I saw them. But we could both be wrong...

And we were:

Never read it, but I thought he was an anti hero. Not that you can tell much from that trailer.

Only a little older than Christian Bale was when he did Batman Begins. So that pretty much eliminates the aged, old, damaged Batman they were going for with Batfleck.

Looks like he'll be doing this after he does the still untitled Christopher Nolan film so lets see how this goes.

It is a shame that the reaction to a new Batman casting is pretty much meh but thats just where DC is at the minute with their films.

Hopefully with Marvel taking their time building up to their next phase that DC can get their house of many branching universes in order and bring something coherent to the table.

Or they can carry on pandering to the 'WE WANT THE SNYDER CUT!!!!'

He's been free to choose projects post Twilight, and for the most part has been excellent, so I'm a little surprised he's jumping into a big studio production like Batman.

Interesting choice but casting has never really been the issue with DC so not sure it will lead to a decent film.

Meh

I’m just all in for that Joker film, the more I see that trailer and Joaquin Phoenix in other stuff the more ace I think it’ll be

I think it's a good casting.

A lot of people probably had the same 'meh' feeling when Heath Ledger was announced as the Joker.

Everyone was wound up when they announced Ledger and Affleck, I guess I'm optimistic but I don't think I've seen him in anything since a Twilight movie.

I still wanted Efron.

Enjoy wouldnt be exactly how I'd describe it, its my first Claire Denis film and from what I hear it isnt the most accessible of hers so im more mixed on it. I like all the performances a lot, I think the juxtaposition of the biological aspects and space setting is pretty interesting and most space/sci-fi films are quite clinical whereas this is really heavy and graphic with it, but its weirdly structured and while most of the timeframe hopping works, some of it just feels jarring and oddly edited in. Got some great imagery and ideas, but it didnt quite click properly for me.

He is one of the best actors of his generation. Much better than Bale at the same age, if you ask me. I was not interested in the project until now. Reeves + Pattinson, if it clicks, it can be really really good.
What do Fernando Hierro, Carles Puyol, Philipp Lahm, Andres Iniesta, Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Jordan Henderson share in common?

Yeah, and maybe David Walliams can surprise us all by being the next Superman. I'm not a huge fan of Pattinson for Batman, but he has the height and the acting chops. Efron is a plastic-looking pretty boy who, as far as I'm aware, has never delivered anything approaching an impressive dramatic or comedic performance. If you can point me toward something that'll change my mind I'm open to that, but right now he looks considerably less qualified than the likes of Shia LaBouef or James Franco. This is a role that the likes of Val Kilmer and George Clooney struck out on, and they were legitimately good actors.
