Clock also the Blade Runner reference in the title....

Reminds me of Dreams of Santa Anna.  The old House music track from 89 I think.

Didnt realise some of you were DJs. I had dex from 90-92 and about 300 vinyl . I use to spend a lot of money in 3 Beat and Eastern Bloc. I stopped because the music went into jungle .

Not sure about this thread but there’s some folk who still play records out in the house & techno thread. This one strikes me more as auld arses who like relaxing music at home :) I could be wrong though.

I’ve got cd decks (not the same is it) that I used for an ambient night in a basement bar in Gijón in Spain. Loved doing that with another Red and now good mate I met over there who was into some really interesting but fairly challenging stuff that would drone like the Kop in the 70s! He’d do an hour of just one beat pulsing over a distant fog horn that zonked everyone out, then i think the plan was I’d try and perk em up a bit with some Artificial Intelligence from Warp or early Aphex Twin. It worked well! Only problem was when a group of youngsters bounded in demanding we play something they could actually dance to. Haha sorry folks wrong night.

Jason? He can mix well. I still have all my old Warp stuff. Absolutely loved Artifical Intelligence. Oh and Black Dog and Polygon Window......bliss. In the noughties i would zone people out by playing Sun Electric or the slower stuff by artists on Ultimate.

Didn't Nightmares on Wax spawn from WARP ?

I remember a song from 89 by the Forgemasters or something. I think they were from Sheffield of all fucking places.

Loved this: Ellen Arkbro – For Organ and Brass (2017)

https://ellenarkbro.bandcamp.com/

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/5GFfIe3mr20" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/5GFfIe3mr20</a>

Bit of info:

For organ and brass is comprised of two works by the Stockholm-based composer Ellen Arkbro. Both works focus on tuning, intonation and harmonic modulation. In previous projects, Arkbro composed for early music ensembles, wrote a series of durational pieces utilising synthetic tones and processed guitars, and, most recently, presented a work lasting 26 days at the Stockholm Concert Hall. for organ and brass looks back to Arkbro’s studies in Just Intonation with La Monte Young, Marian Zazeela, and their disciple Jung Hee Choi in New York, as well as with kindred spirit Marc Sabat in Berlin.
The title composition was written for an organ with a specific kind of historical tuning known as meantone temperament. It was only after locating an appropriate instrument—-the Sherer-Orgel dating back to 1624 in St. Stephen’s Church in Tangermünde, Northeastern Germany—-that Arkbro set about recording both for organ and brass and its counterpart, three.

Anyone here into Ambient Music such as Phillip Glass, Harold Budd or Brian Eno?

Although I like it I don't actually have that much of it.

I have got Eno's 'Apollo' and 'Music For Films' and love them both, especially Apollo.

I also like an album called 'Kenotic' by a band called Hammock. It sort of has an ambient vibe to it. I particularly like this one off the album called 'The Air Between Us.'

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/N7E60qm8hJA" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/N7E60qm8hJA</a>

I also have this playing in the background at the moment. 'An Hour, A Day, No More' by Harold Budd and Robin Guthrie.

It's an hour long meditative piece. Great for relaxing to.  :)

I think it counts as ambient ;D

Here's something I've been listening to almost non-stop for the last few weeks, which contains tracks that I have been regularly listening to for the last almost 20 years......

A couple of friends of mine from Göteborg , called 'Carbon Based Lifeforms', recently did a set in Stockholm and this is their first 'official' live video.

Get some headphones off, consume some herbal stuffs, enjoy. 😻🙏

(Too many good points to list, but my particular highlight is the transition from 'Erratic Patters' to 'Equilibrium' at 43:30..........which leads to an awesome drop at 45:23 and a sequence that gives me goosebumps and makes me wish my amp went up to 11!!!!! Trip the fuck out, boys and girls, this is seriously good music........
