So close there. World class Davies nearly deflected it into his own net.

To be fair it would have been one of his best goals.

Lyon do have a mistake in 'em, that defence is not at all assured.

If he had put any pace on that ball it would have been 2-0 there.

Zenit look like the best team to me. Fancied them to win it before the season started. Could be some very good teams dropping into this tournament this year though.

I'm torn because at this rate we won't be playing Koeman's Everton in December.

Bit lucky not to be 2-0 down really, althoug Lyon don't look very safe in defence either.

Lyon don't do safe in defence. They've conceded 15 in 9 Ligue 1 matches, score loads though.

Well the transfer window doesn't open till January, so we will be.  It just wont be Koeman who's managing them.  ;D

Davis and Mirallas are getting stuck in but the lack of pace is evident when the French break.

Really good team, I just wonder how seriously they'd take it if they're in with a shot of a top 3 or 4 finish in Serie A.

Haven't watched much but they're languishing in 10th I think. Decided to tune in to their game as they were being labelled the entertainers of the competition, big mistake and that's 45th minutes of my life I'll never get back.

Yeah Gerry looks likely the winner will come from one of the teams dropping down. I'll have to tune in to Zenit's next match to see what they're like.

Thought it would be good to catch Suso and Donnaruma but neither have impressed, Donnaruma has been quite error prone in all honesty and looks like an 18 year old goalkeeper.

We're going to do some unholy things to this Everton side. Can you imagine Salah, Mane, Coutinho and Bobby getting into the positions the Lyon forwards are getting in tonight? It could be a massacre.
