Someone made a great post the other day outlining that the money isn't being used wisely (why fund Farah with lottery money when he's already funded by NOP, for example).  Facilities are awful.  The HS and collegiate system in the US, with even High Schools having top class facilities, is way ahead of us.  Even the local private schools and University in my city don't have synthetic tracks or proper field equipment.

Seems unfair to compare with the US though. Don't think it's possible for a country to decide to replicate their HS and collegiate systems (well established and thoroughly American), which are responsible for the great level of competition, and the amount of money in it means schools and colleges themselves investing in the talent and facilities instead of a national body.

Shame to hear Foster's packing it in....will miss his voice on the big nights

Delighted he's packing it personally, long since passed his sell by date

A throwback to the days of David Coleman and Ron Pickering (who?!) though. The BBC coverage didn't bother me too much to be honest, at least they always give it plenty of airtime.

I do think the bbc coverage is pretty good, Johnson Is head & shoulders above, Minichello was a great addition & the rest I can tolerate. Just not a fan of Brendan, who I do think is one of the best runners we've ever produced.

All he talked about was Mo and his own events.  (I'm being slightly facetious.)

Would you say he was the greatest British runner turned commentator of all time?
