I've to 2, Got a classic Rolex Datejust - gold & steel bracelet, gold face with date. Got that a few years ago.

Just got a Submarnier, 2nd hand. Went for the one without the date bubble but it pisses me off because I keep looking at my watch for the date and it's not there!

The good thing about Rolex is they hold their value, and in a lot of cases increase in value. Safe investment and nice watches :)

Dream watch would be the solid gold 18ct President day date but I havent got 9 grand to spend on a watch. Yet.

99.99% of watches are not good investments.

Even rolex, they hold their value but you are never going to make any cash off them.

Take a 15 year old sub, I only paid 3 for it now its 5k on the 2nd hand market..........but you've had it serviced 3 times at 650 a pop. so in 15 years you have made 50 quid.

You need to get a new watchmaker and stop paying ridiculous money for your services then.

You cannot beat a rolex service, literally amazing. Your watch comes back as good as the day you bought it.

Speak for yourself. My old man buys and sells them and makes at least £500 a time. Rolex increase their prices 3 times per year and the 2nd hand market also rises.

After Brexit Rolex increased their prices again. As soon as the result came in and the pound fell on it's arse Rolex sales soared.

You can buy an Air King fairly cheap if you know where to look 2nd hand.

I'm not an expert far from it, but my dad is. It's his hobby he's got about 10 Rolex's at the minute and he'll make money on all of them. Buy them from all around the world.

And i'll tell you what, if ever someone was selling their rolex and they showed over 15 years that it had 3 rolex services and the watch was in good condition, i'd pay considerably more for it.

Some real wrist eye candiy on here - the Nomos, Sinn and Oris watches all posted on here are lovely. The Casio - well that's just pure fun! I'd wear them all.

Oh, and that Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope - fucking gorgeous and a bargain. True, authentic Bauhaus.

Next on my target list - the Tudor Pelagos, Blue, Titanium. Looks even better in person, light as a feather. The blue really pops, love the snowflake hands. Bit pricey though for a Tudor - patiently holding out for a top notch preowned piece.

I have decided to part with two lovely watches from my collection in order to find the purchase of something else I have my eye on. The two in question are very different from each other - a minty 1977 Seiko helmet, and a 1944 Omega officer's watch. Here are the eBay listings. If anyone is interested in either, I will do a special RAWK price of 10% off to avoid the eBay fees.

Im going to pull the trigger on a new or explorer 1 or a GMT master 2 ( ceramic ).

don't know which way to go, explorer is understated but I just like the GMT. However the GMT has polished centre links and I think they will just scratch and look a mess after 6 months.

It's just to give it more of a dressed down look, and I chose the vintage leather to work with the age of the watch (43 years old). The black Chronissimo strap gives it a more formal / pilot look, so I like having both options.

Yup, nice that. I've had a few of these 70s Omegas and they're good value for money. The look is a bit of an acquired taste, but I really like them. Very much of their era. I'm guessing yours has the 1020 movement which, although not one of Omega's very best in-house movements - is pretty reliable and capable of good accuracy.
