Too fucking right, Samie, lad. Doubt you'll get enough connoisseurs of the game to get one going, though;  full of wet behind the ears chancers who will prolly shoehorn players in from the 80 and even the 90's as the last couple of drafts have been all over the place in that respect. Shocking!

I think 70s will have to be a miss from me, will do a disservice to it with very little knowledge of the decade. Googling Coventry full backs 1973 season is where I draw the line.

A small movie idea: make a group of criminals to perform a heist. They don't have to be criminals but they do have to roughly fit the template (eg brains/getaway driver/explosives/whatever Bernie Mac's role was).

So you could have Professor X as the brains, Dom Toretto as the driver etc etc

Once you've done the 70s draft. Anyone fancy a Maradona draft?

1 player who played for Argentina at any point.
1 player capped for Argentina under him
1 Napoli player from any era
1 Barca player from any era
1 Sevilla player from any era
1 from with Boca Juniors or Newells Old Boys
1 player who played one game at the 1986 world cup
1 balon dor / world player of the year winner
1 world cup top scorer OR player of the tournament
1 "recognised" wearer of a number 10 shirt
1 maverick player, maybe not the best but played with the same free spirit

Maradona and Messi cannot be picked.

This is Betty's idea for the Maradona draft.

Quote
A letters draft. Spelling out D-I-E-G-O M-A-R-A-D-O-N-A with a 13 pick draft squad of players matching each letter with their surnames. The letters M-A-R-A-D-O-N-A must always be in the starting line up though. Carlos Alberto with a C or an A?

I like Xabi idea better to be honest, although the last criteria would be a tad problematic.

Yeah, Xabi's idea definitely has more finesse. I since realised I can't think of any decent players beginning with A besides Ayala and Alonso.

I’m happy for the criteria to be changed. I was making it up as I go along. The last category needs to be a goalkeeper really.

If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.
