It's going to be buggy of course, and many will cast doubt on the credibility of the winners, but it will be an interesting watch to see the competition in this format.

The one-off nature of the ties will have a massive impact on how teams approach the games. Rather like individual cup finals.

It’s a completely different competition now. The two-legged rounds played alongside domestic leagues are not comparable with a stand-alone tournament of knock out rounds. This is where an asterisk is probably relevant or they change the title for the winners.

Definitely warrants an asterisk. This isn't just a small rule change like water breaks, 5 subs or BCD. This is a now a different competition, a format change MID-CAMPAIGN. Two-legged ties are fundamental to European comps.

Needs highlighting that it is.

Atalanta winning it would be awesome really hope they do as they are joy to watch and defeintly the best side to watch in world football as they are so dam entertaining. Right now though I think Bayern are the only European giant that doesn't have question marks about them and that's what makes them the favourites.

If Atalanta win it I wouldn't be labeling them as asterisk Champions as even with the current format it would be a sensational achievement and not a single football fan could begrudge their triumph. Anybody else wins and yeah I'm definitely saying asterisk champions

- Chelsea [in the unlikelihood they get through somehow]

The rest I don't care about. I gave PSG a chance to win this year but with Mbappe out, I'm not sure.

They're so far ahead, their 14th wouldn't make me lose sleep over it. It's hugely unlikely anyone will catch up to them in our lifetime.

I'm looking forward to this a lot and it honestly feels at least emotionally ok that we're not in it. The past few months have been draining and while I'd obviously prefer to win it, I don't really mind being out given we won it last year.

Hopefully City go out against Real due to a dodgy red card and an incorrect penalty so that Karen finally can get the help that she needs.
