I really hope Kenny doesn't persist in playing Carra just because Flanno is playing.

Poor excuse if we use it. Why not just play Carra at RB so he can teach whatever he teaches to Coates when he plays at CB? Or how about letting Coates and Flanagan try to establish an understanding?

I could understand us choosing Carra in the FA Cup game, but we are making him a sacred cow.

All our older players should  get rest ( except for Doni). I hope we win so we build momentum for the semifinal. Stoke, Fulham and Sunderland could all pass us so we better show up.

I can't see why Carragher should to be rested in order to play the FA Cup. We've had guys like Maxi and Coates warming the bench for the last two months while the similar starting 11 have failed to and time again to get he job done.

Just because it's a big game and it's Everton, do people think that Carragher will play his obligatory blinder, the one he has every 15 games or so, these days? The game's far to big to be taking that risk, IMO. Agger and Skrtel are a shoe in, or should be. We'll be a far better chance of progressing with the statistically best centre half pairing in England. FA Semi, or not.

Anyway, rewinding somewhat, for Blackburn I'd go.

Doni
Flanno
Coates
Skrtel
Enrique
Gerrard
Hendo
Shelvey
Maxi
Carroll
Suarez

Doni, Flannagan, Coates, Carra, Aurelio, Maxi, Spearing, Shelvey, Henderson, Bellamy, Carroll

I'd bring Agger on for the last 20 mins or so despite whatever the scoreline is. I wouldn't start him as Blackburn are a physical team so wouldn't risk the chance of an injury. Caroll, Bellamy, Shelvey and Henderson all fighting for a Semi final place so they should have no problem putting in a decent performance.

Blackburn were very poor against Man Utd last week but expect them to have a real go at us on Tuesday. Score draw.

Kenny has shown no willingness to reward players performances with starts like he said he would.therefore the same failures will start and let the club down.

I'd like to see Shelvey playing the hole behind Suarez.

Spearing and Henderson in the middle. Downing and Gerrard in the wide positions.

Coates alongside Skrtel. Enrique and Flannagan as the fullbacks.

Doni in goal.

I don't know what our strongest starting 11 is and where and how we should play. Not sure kenny or the coaching staff do either.

If Agger's going to be in contention for Wembley then he needs an hour here. God knows we need him.

Presuming Kelly/Johnson not available, the back 4 will be  Flanno, Coates, Agger, Aurelio.

I also think Kenny will look to protect Gerrard and Suarez before Wembley so am not expecting a lot out of this game.

I don't think we'll start with the same team against Blackburn that will start the semi. My guess would be the team for the semi will be closer to the one starting against Villa. We haven't got a massive squad, but at this point in the season we have to use it as best as we can. We've got fitness issues already, the two cup runs with strong teams have cost us. Rest whoever we can get away with against Blackburn.

It'd be nice just to see a team who have earnt their places, and not the same side again who are continually letting us down. Flanagan deserves to continue at RB, Coates deserves a game at CB, Shelvey deserves another start.

Enrique needs a rest, so does Stevie and I'd be tempted to rest Luis as well.

Saturday is our biggest game of the season. Unfortunately our league form dictates that on this occasion Tuesday is not important, and I think Dalglish's selection at Blackburn will reflect this.
Gerrard, Suarez, Skrtel to be rested and utilise the squad.

Had a dream last night that Aurellio scored, not sure who the opposition was but I'd pick him at LB. Other than that can't see any major changes but it would be nice to see Maxi out there if he is moving on in the summer.

I completely disagree with people saying play the kids or that this game doesn't matter.

If we were on a reasonable run of form then I would agree, but at the moment we're on such a terrible run that another defeat would be more damaging than the possibility of a player or two getting injured.

We haven't won a game in ages and it would be a great boost to have a win under our belts going into the semi.

That said I'd probably still rest Enrique as he hasnt missed a game this season and looks knackered

Don't agree mate. I see what you're saying but footy has never worked like that.

A Semi-Final against your rivals is where all form goes totally out of the window. Obviously we've got a mountain to climb having to play against Everton and Howard Webb - the latter will be an almost impossible task. But form goes out of the window.
