I watched that on me phone and United/Arsenal on the telly in the background

What a contrast in goalkeepers
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

The passage in the end resulting to our 3rd goal is exactly what could easily make up the difference between being an also-ran or a champion.

We had gotten so used to keeping mediocrity for over half a decade ... feels great to have someone truly competent there. Could have even won our #6 with Allison in Kiev.

Amazing, so so good

Didn't see any of the replays, but: A) Was their goal offside/a foul? and B) Did he keep the ball in at the end?

Couldn't believe how little was being made of his contribution to our third on my commentary tonight.  Utterly phenomenal and did more than could be expected for their goal too.

Comfortably his best performance for us so far, and he's had a few good'uns.

When’s the last time we had a goalkeeper who won us points.

Before we would just say the keeper couldn’t have done much and it’d have been 2-2.

He’s sensational. So glad he’s ours and one of the reason we’re neck and neck with city just now

I would say we have three world class players at the moment, up from just Coutinho 12 months ago: Van Dijk, Salah and this guy.

It's so different to the last 7 years of making excuses for goalkeepers and micro-analysing their footwork etc.

Worth every bit of lolly we spent on him this lad. One minute saving a goal, the next minute starting the move that leads to the third goal. Great performance.

We've stolen another from Roma. Both Alisson and VVD to me instantly looked several levels above what we had previously and it's telling how we've improved as a team as a result of that. Baby Keith looks like he might become a similar prospect in midfield in the future.

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

It was an incredible fee for a keeper, but he has looked worth it. Barely put a foot (or hand) wrong since day one. Adds so much to the attacking side compared to Mignolet it's unreal.

Anyone else think he seemed back to his most confident with the ball at his feet again tonight, especially noticeable in the 1st half? Looked a massive save just before we broke for the 3rd.

Fantastic. To think that folks wanted to keep Karius when this man was available. lol.
There was literally no-one who thought Karius was a better goalkeeper than him. I did question whether he was worth 60million more than Karius when we had other areas of the team to strengthen - and I was wrong. He's absolutely and undoubtedly world class, very probably the very best there is right now, and while Karius didn't actually cost us anything other than the CL final - those were his only two goal-costing errors of the whole season - he didn't pull off the worldies that Alisson does, and good as he was with the ball at his feet, he didn't launch attacks like Alisson does, either.

Certainly tonight showed exactly why he's worth the money - a difference-maker at both ends of the pitch, in a position where most teams are content to just have someone who stops goals going in.
He is the cat who walks by himself, and all roads are alike to him.

Buffon knows what he was talking about. He put it in the top 3 in the world. I'd narrow it to the top 1.
That save and then keeping the ball in play and then starting that counterattack was completely mad. His concentration levels are insane. 65 million is too cheap for this level of talent in today's market. He's easily worth a dozen points already this season.

Definitely, he's sublime

Played a long pass out to Trent out wide and i'm sure it was a no look pass, insane if it was
