If we find ourselves chasing the game I would like to see Klopp put Moreno at LB and try Milner wide on the right.
I don't know if I'd have him in the front three but I wouldn't mind seeing Milner in the midfield three with two of Hendo, Lallana and Gini. Moreno's looked all right this season and we need more going forward in any case, we definitely can't start with Gini, Lucas and Can again.

I guarantee you Firmino will start through the middle and rightly so
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

We are meeting them at our worst form to date.
I guess Klopp will play the same tactic as when we met MancsC

The pressure is on them now. Mourinho will make sure that his side are considered plucky little underdogs, but they are the team in form, at home and have a team worth hundreds of millions. We have a slightly disjointed squad through injuries and with Mane away, are in a small slump and look tired.

I'm confident, but we need to find our form of about 2 months ago. If we do that we'll win.

I wouldn't be down based on tonight. Liverpool have a thin squad, that's all tonight showed for me. You will be a different proposition altogether with Henderson, Matip and Coutinho from the start. And getting Sturridge out of the team wouldn't harm your prospects either based on tonight's showing.

Careful. Someone will soon be around accusing you of being a Manc.

Not too worried about the pressing or the lack of it though. Pressing only works if it's concerted and everyone contributes. No chance of that with Sturridge in the lineup. Wouldn't mind him coming off the bench at all, however. Especially on the right if he goes up against Blind, who is one of the few players slow enough for Sturridge to dribble past these days.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Hopefully we go with something like this. Firmino should never play in the wings ever again. Studge should also be an impact sub. This might be also an ideal game for Woodburn to announce his arrival. If we are losing in the last 20 minutes and Firmino is still having a stinker, give the young lad a chance. He might do something special as he plays the game without any fear.

I hope our decision to downsize the squad in the summer doesn't come back to bite us on the arse, because we are starting to look tired.

We desperately need Hendo back in that midfield on Sunday. And we need him to pick up from where he left off. Hendo, Lallana and Gini. Any other combination and I think we'll struggle to get come away with anything.

I agree, hate to be negative but without Henderson and Matip back I think we will struggle.

Can and Lucas shouldn't be anywhere near our first 11 on Sunday.

Honestly I'd play Milner right side on Sunday, we have no right sided player in Mane's absence and yeah that means moving Moreno to full back then so be it. At least we can push Firmino into the middle and Coutinho can play from the left, I never wanna see origi ir sturridge playing outwide again or Firmino for that matter.

He's massive.

Milner at RW is a possibility but that means trusting Moreno.

Firmino has to start centrally if that means benching Origi & Studge so be it,we have lacked any sort of fluidity since he has switched wide.

It seems that we need a core group of players (significantly lallana, coutinho, hendo, mane...etc) to make this 4-3-3 formation to really work

So if a player or 2 from this core group is missing...perhaps Klopp has to tweak his tactics to suit the players we have now ? Cos Shifting firmino wide, moving lallana away from the 3 man midfield does not seem to work.

Id rather trust Moreno, because believe it or not Milner does ridiculous things at left back also, which if it was Moreno carrying out the same actions, the radio phone ins and internet forums would be going wild with anger.

I would go for

Migs

Clyne     Lovren     Klavan     Milly

Hendo

Lallana     Wijnaldum

Ojo     Firmino     Coutinho

Ojo is obviously an unknown quantity but I feel he's a more natural replacement for Mane, and the team looks like it's in need of something different right now. Don't think Klopp would do it though.

No chance.

Milner right wing is best bet

No way he's playing Milner at left-wing in the biggest game of the season. Firmino - Origini - Couts is my guess.

I am with you but if Henderson plays and we play our normal game, I am not worried.

If we play like we did against Southampton, we are in trouble.

I wouldn't worry too much in light of recent events, we always have a habit of pulling out a big game performance from nowhere, obviously imagine people will read into the narrative (we've been lacklustre, they've been on a good run hence they win, we lose  ::)) but form usually goes out the window.

I expect a another dour affair, Mourinho defensive trying to nick 1 and keep it tight, though the pressure on him to get keep getting results to keep pace with the top 4 might see them actually go at us for once.

Utd strangled the game at Anfield, came here with only one vision & that was to avoid defeat.
The return will be completely different for many reasons, form has switched somewhat & a few key players for us returning & may not be as sharp.
Dreading this to be honest.
I think JK will select..

Do you not think the fact that there's pressure on United to come out and play a bit more will benefit us? I'm not suggesting it will be a really expansive game of end to end football but there's no way they will play as defensively as Anfield. As a footballing side we are streets ahead of them.

Milner is first choice left back and will play there when available. Hope Matip and Hendo are good to go. Hendo, Wij and Lallana in midfield. Coutinho, Firmino and Sturridge (or Origi) as front 3.

We weren't sensational vs City. Or Everton. Or Swansea. Or Burnley. Or West Ham. Which shows that we have off games - quite a few -  and even though when we're on, we are sensational, you're right, if we show any of the form we have since that Stoke game (of which we were bullied for the first half) we may be happy to get out of that shit hole with a draw. And I think that's why lots are hoping for a draw.

I personally would love to think Klopp and the players adopt your attitude, though! Would be great seeing us come out of the block on fire and absolutely destroy them.

They need to win and will fancy their chances if we play like last night.

Oddly enough last night's game is a wake up call for any passengers in the team.

We need Lallana in midfield and I think Origi has to start.

Sturridge off the bench late on.

If Lucas or Can play we are fucked. Too many times Wijnaldum had the ball, looked forward and they were both behind him, when Henderson plays he's either square for a 1-2 or ahead, Lallana always in front. Southampton allowed Lucas space and time round the box and why wouldn't they? There's no way United will sit back and allow that much pressure though. Mkhityrians recent form is the biggest worry for me and his directnesd
