My train was £50 return with a 20% discount. That was on the day cheap train tickets went on sale.

+1

Hoping to get one for a mate so I don't have to go on my own. Maybe ask in the help section?

Lots of cancellations and chaos at Newcastle station after the match.  Staff useless. We're currently running two hours late on a train that itself is over six hours late.

Will not be home before 1, then got to be up for the 8:15 sale. The joys of following this club!

Got back at 1:30. Not ideal, considering I had to be up at 6:30 this morning.
There were a few minutes of utter despair when we were dumped out at York with vague instructions to go via Leeds after being told that the line south via Doncaster was totally blocked by a broken down freight train. Fortunately, they got the thing to move just before 10.

Nightmare, we suffered just the same.

Thankfully when we got back to Kings Cross they had taxis take us straight home to our door for free. I had to accompany the missus to the hospital to have our little girl at 5am so was so glad the taxi dropped me home, I reckon I'd have fallen asleep and gone to the end of the line on my train from Kings Cross to St Albans.

Thanks mate. Continuing the tradition of nearly missing births with football. My first I arrived back in London from Switzerland after the Europa final on the day of the birth ;D

It's worth complaining about the trains last Sunday, I got back at 23:25 last week which wasn't that bad given other experiences I've had over the years and others I've just read here. Normally you'd get automatic compensation via delay repay but because of all the trains being cancelled. They won't know what time you got back. I got the 15:58 train to London, which actually left there at 19:49.

Congratulations on the new addition to the family Tom.

We were on this train as well, sent in the delay repay claim and got a full refund.

i watched the chelsea game at my sisters. her 12 year old son is severly autistic and i forgot myself and jumped up screaming at the goal and he went nuts. screaming and shouting. scared the fuck out of me. apologised to my sister as i thought id upset him, turns out he was joining in.

Nice one.

My mate had his and his son's fully refunded. They e-mailed me yesterday to say they'd been a delay looking at mine and would respond by the end of the week.

Have had mine refunded. Also been offered two complimentary first class return tickets anywhere on the east coast line over the next year, due to the delay in looking into my complaint.
