I missed out on the zenith of Klopp's time here, really, and just wanted to be there for a big comeback if not a major trophy - it's not the same when it happened before you were properly paying attention and you only know of it all second-hand. (I did watch the CL final in 2022 but wasn't very well during that period so don't remember too much - and didn't have access to live games back then.) Real Madrid last year was so disappointing but I'm not sure if this is worse, you know?

Kesey was basically doing a public service tbf. I relied on Deliveroo et al that summer as I couldn't be arsed queuing at Waitrose for a pint of milk. But I did at one point order one bottle of diet coke on Deliveroo, which seemed frivolous.

I've been colder in the house this April than in Dec/Jan as I keep trying not to put the heating on, whereas in the winter I'd have it on at these temps.

My work bag was like a pass to freedom. No queing outside supermarkets either as they'd see me bag and let me straight in. I swear though most orders contained alchohol. Bargain Booze signed up for it during lockdown and was busy . The tips were good too. I remember a lady holding out a tenner to me and saying are you allowed to take this or touch this. It was in my pocket and I was off before she even closed the door   ;D.

Hope you're doing OK, PeterJM. I'm just an internet loser but for what it's worth I hope you're managing with things a little better now.

(I've been feeling really shite for a couple of weeks, feels self-indulgent to talk about it really when things are relatively easy compared with others, but I just wanted to post in case it helped to know someone was thinking of you.)

Rodgers never won anything at Liverpool I believe. I suppose thats tough when you decide to play the reserves at real madrid.

No disrespect meant for an ex Liverpool manager and if you rate him highly then im sure you have your reasons.

Don’t really want to discuss rodgers anymore, I dont want to upset the residents, I just dont rate him as highly as you do
Where did I say I rate Rodgers highly?

Was not really that pissed off with the result, it was the seemingly absolute loss of fight and any kind of idea of how to break them down, was fuming at that at full time.

I mean these tactics are not exactly out of the blue, and also not difficult to beat, as them sitting 6th in Serie A proves. I am only hanging onto some crazy notion that Klopp is trying to preserve them for the last 6 finals we have now and the message was to not exert too much. That whole passing around the back four for about 20 minutes was mind-boggling.

At least we showed something of back to our usual selves in parts of the first half, better show that the entire match Sunday or it's curtains.

I planned my walk this morning to listen to the album twice before work, but then whilst on my first listen she dropped the second album... ended up walking 10 miles!

My first thoughts are lyrically it's very strong. I was expecting it to be very sad, and whilst it's sad and a bit angry in parts, I did find a lot of humour in it.

Production has surprised me - it's more stripped back than I was expecting and less of Jack's regular antics! (not a bad thing or a slight on JA - I love their work together but there are no 'glitter pen' songs or pure upbeat pop songs).

I got one full listen of all 31 songs and then as far as Clara Bow on the second. So will pick it up from there at lunch.

It was a bit overwhelming at first - how new everything was, and not really getting what I was expecting. I read her tweets when I woke up and straight away knew it wasn't the subject/relationship I was expecting it to be about and was impressed with the effort she went to point out how most of this was self-inflicted and there are no scores to settle. I feel that was a direct note to fans who can take things too far and make assumptions on who/what she is talking about and act on it. Something she has been criticised for not doing in the past.

I feel like I have missed important lyrics/stories but the second listen felt more comfortable and enjoyable. It will take me a while to get my bearings but can appreciate why people are praising the story telling and introspective look at heartbreak and everything that comes with it. Straight away you could tell she landed hard with the lyrics. That has always been her strong point but she has definiteley gone up levels with the last 4 albums.

I never think she is given enough credit for the genres she has leaned into - from a young country artist, to country/pop, then pure pop, then a bit hip-hop/r&b and pop, then she gets a bit folkly/indie with elements of pop, then starts exploring synth/electro sounds but then this feels different again, like another shift. What genre is this? Pop? I think with the amount of fans she has, it would be hard for her not break records and such but it doesn't feel like she has played it safe with this to capitalise on the last 1.5 years. Her ability to switch things up but remain so consistent and good will never not impress me.

Looking forward to get back into it now.

Hope the rest of you are enjoying it and it is well recieved out there!

No urgency, no passion and tragically what felt like no organisation.

The one thing that sticks out the worst for me, is we are very predictable - easy to mark, easy to counter and easy to nullify. Heavy metal football seems like a long, long time ago.

Role on Sunday.
My mind was drifting off to memories of heavy metal football during that last 20 minutes.  The Dortmund performance at the same stage of the UEFA Cup was like chalk and cheese to last night.  Admittedly Dortmund had the chances to have killed off that tie but if being two goals down in a knock-out cup tie isn't the moment to throw caution to the wind then when is?!

It's easy with hindsight but rather than taking off Diaz could we have moved him to right back and had his energy and ball carrying from deep with Salah/Jota ahead of him?  Anything just to disrupt Atalanta from being so comfortable.  Gomez coming on for Trent felt like an admission that we were content to escape with the bit of pride that a 1-0 victory gave us.

I thought that going for an ECG today - finally got round to it - would make me feel young, but quite a few people in their 20s were in the waiting room among the older patients. Good to see that generation taking their health seriously. I doubt I would have showed up even if my GP referred me when I was in my 20s. It took me weeks to get round to it even now.

Oh yeah, don't be an idiot like me and power walk 3 miles to the hospital after a coffee for an ECG, as I was seen quickly (expected a long wait) and I only just got my heart rate down to a 'normal' level (resting is ~50 usually). It was supposed to be a resting ECG. Got my steps in though. ;D

resting is 50 ?.

are you some kind of super athlete

I use to have it at 60 when I was younger and really quite fit. Now I'm the classic 72
