I believe the actual rule is you can do it as soon as you get back and the latest you can do it is the 2nd day
That’s correct, it’s misleading that they call it a day 2 test as the day that you get back is day 0, the next day is day 1 and the following day is day 2 so unless you want to self quarantine for longer then you have to, do the test on day 0.

So on return, what happens if you don’t take a pcr test?

Yeah that sounds correct as the wording is as follows...

Everyone entering the UK (other than those coming from the Common Travel Area that covers the Channel Islands and Ireland) will have to take PCR test by the end of the second day after their arrival and self-isolate until they receive a negative result

Probably still means that you'll have to isolate for at least 1 1/2 - 2 days on return.

No point talking about tests really is there when Italy are bound to ban us travelling over anyway.

for a start you need to buy the test to actually get back in the country so you might as well take it. For Porto my test wasn't delivered in time to my day 2 address as the company fucked up so I never did it and no one contacted me or anything. But they could be more strict this time

I hope anybody who’s ordered tickets can get their money back, if they can’t or no longer wish to travel.

I’d booked flights after the Watford game last month & hotel rooms but was never convinced my mates would go so held off buying tickets yesterday & ordering tests.

Ok great point. I’m double jabbed and had Covid a month ago. Taking tests is a bit irrelevant for me but it looks like no choice in the matter. It may all be moot point anyway!!

Lads I’ve been been to and from Dubai plenty of times recently and have always required a pcr test on day 2.  All I did was use the code for the first one I ever booked everytime on my locator form. I never even took the test or self isolated. Obviously this might not sit well with some people, just if anyone’s booked and worried about it I wouldn’t be arsed. Plus I had to do a pcr before arriving in the uk so it’s just ott in my opinion

Then people wonder how these variants ever enter the country.

Those travelling on the day trip with Sport Options will have to take a PCR test 2 days before travelling and take another on return to the UK even though the outgoing test might not even be 48 hours old and theoretically still valid?

Is this what's required?

the day 2 is a requirement of everyone entering the country doesn't matter how many tests you take before then and now close to your day 2 test they are

The Porto and Madrid two day pcr test we done was pre booked for the afternoon when we landed back here , went to randox around 6 on the same day and had the result as an email early hours in the next day so in that scenario I’d have been able to go to work the next day

Nothing new really, just we haven't got a clue what could happen, but you'll get your ticket money back if it's cancelled.

I guess the Italian government will make an announcement in next couple days if they're gonna do anything for travel. Silence is good

Speaking to a couple of journalists I know who live in Italy and work on Serie A, neither expect a change to capacities or entry requirements before the game or New Year. Although they are pretty strict on proof of vaccination, rather than COVID pass from recovery.

What they are unsure of, is whether travel into Italy will be restricted at all (e.g. 5 day quarantine). At this point I'm more confident getting in San Siro than Italy! Flying out Friday though, so fingers crossed!

200. But not sure if they all have been added.
346 is green and almost full, so assume added last. No idea if they need to add more blocks

do you know if a printed pdf vaccination certificate is ok rather than the app on your phone ? and do they scan it when you enter the country or is it just manually checked by airline staff before you board the plane?

I have done a few trips using my printed copy of proof of vaccines. They are just checked by airline check in but also once by spanish border control in Barca. Never been scanned by anyone. I do have copies on my phone app but never used my phone once to provide proof of vaccine.

As someone said earlier I also use an old  PCR reference number for my  Passenger Locator Form. Why pay through the arse when I can get a free  PCR check at work or NHS when I get home? Corrupt Tory c*nts.
