Just unbelievable - mins per goal is 58.  Even in Owen's heyday when he was at his best, he didn't come close to that.  I don't think any of our strikers in the past did.

Ridiculous naming him captain. What is he going to do? Talk to the referee in a calm way (in his perfect English) when something bad is happening? Cool down his fellow players in arguments? Lift the team spirit?

Obviously Lucas should be the captain today. A natural leader, a calm figure, speaks English perfectly and can thrive on his teammates.

Just lead the team to an absolute demolition of one of our rivals. Just that.

Oddly enough - to me at least - the banning and being shot down this summer by the manager and owners did him a WORLD of good.  It refocused him, and made him even hungrier (heh) to win the supporters back - I think it made all the difference.  I don't actually know that he'd be in this form if he played all season.

To hand him the captaincy when Lucas and Johnson are on the pitch. It's like saying - Luis, this is your club, you belong here, and we're going to do everything to keep you here.

Phenomenal player. And like so many I'm just out of words now.

I just hope he sees where we're headed for.

Be fair, I got 1 out of 3 this weekend ;D. Our midfield put in the best performance for years.

I'd be quite happy now either way, he leads us to a Champions League spot then gets his dream move and enables us to bring in 2 top, top players or he leads us to a Champions League spot and stays.

We need to do what we can to keep him here. We need to place him, with Gerrard at the very top of the pyramid at the club. Give him all the money and flexibility we can afford. I would also keep him closely involved in transfer dealings. Find out what he's happy with, who he wants and who he doesn't want. This is perhaps our best opportunity to break back into the top-4 and might be our only chance, dependent on who is 'relegated' out of the top-4 and how they spend to recover the situation.

I would say it's a risk worth taking, but it's not a risk. Whilst he's in a Liverpool shirt he's giving us his all and we should make the dream continue for as long as possible.

Sorry, but I don't care if you are Messi, Pele and Maradona all wrapped into one. No player should have anywhere near this level of influence.

Like I said before, Give him an offer he can't refuse (£250 grand p/w) on a 5 year contract, make him vice captain (after Stevie). Make the offer now and sign up some other top players. I'm sure he'll realise that Liverpool was made for him.

His first goal was sublime; the pass to Henderson and the movement to get it back. Then the composure to dummy the defender and then a precise shot. Art.

It's difficult but I resigned myself to us losing him long ago and every game more he plays I see as a blessing.  I'm just enjoying seeing a player of his calibre wearing our shirt.  He's truly the type of player you will tell your grand children about and while I know he'll unlikely be our player forever we should just look to get what we can from him right now.

One thing regarding Suarez that pisses me off, properly, properly fucking pisses me off, is the lack of credit we, as a club get regarding his development.

He's improved IMMEASURABLY, since his arrival. His overall game has improved, his passing, his decision making, but most of all his finishing. The goals he's scoring, he would be missing in his 1st season.

There was a big debate on here about 12/18 months ago asking "is Suarez world class", and i said no, i didn't think at that point he was because of his conversion rate chances to goals. But my God how wrong i was, he's improved so so much, and i think the club, and Brendan Rodgers deserve massive credit for it.

You quite often hear "If Liverpool sell Suarez they won't be able to attract a player as good", and while that's true as he's arguably the best human footballer in the world (Messi & Ronaldo aren't Human), he wasn't this good when he came, and he came when we didn't have CL.

Offer him 300k a week. Do it now. But remember life will go on after Luis. CL or no CL in the summer we can all be happy he was a red at some point, but Liverpool has been the making of Suarez and don't let anyone say any different.

You know that boss season he had last year? When he became only the 2nd player in 19 years to reach 20 league goals in a season for Liverpool?

Well, he's 3 goals away from 20 now. And 6 goals away from his entire tally for last season already. In 11 games.

Sorry Barnesie. Sorry Robbie. Sorry Stevie.

Luis Suarez is the best Liverpool player I've seen in my 27 years supporting the Reds.

Stevie will always be the best ever for me. But Suarez is just an imperious, majestical and mercurial genius. I've never, ever seen a player like him. His raw ability, work ethic, will to win; and edge of the seat style makes him one in a million. Despite his misdemeanours he has developed this infectious nature about him now and I was happy he was made captain today.
Liverpool was made for me and I was made for Liverpool.

If we offered him 200k it'd be the league record. 300k would put him on par with Ronaldo and Messi. While you can argue at the moment he is performing like them, he isn't near them as a brand.

Rooney is on 250 apparently.

I wasn't speaking literally, i generally meant offer an absolutely massive contract fitting of his ability.

He is worth the wages of 2/3 players, just give it him and pray he stays.
