I write bits and bobs for fun. Here's an example (I like the edit bit at the end, a year or so later):

"End of 2018/19
We’ve been starved of properly competing for most of the last couple of decades. Ok, we’ve won some trophies and been runners-up a couple of times, but only really in 2013/14 from recent years did it feel like we had a real chance at a big one. And this from a team that won 6 league titles out of 9 from 1982 to 1990 as I was turning from a child to an adult.
2001 felt like a huge monkey off the back, 2005 even moreso, but we were in danger of hitting the barren times again this summer, and on the back of desperately close heartbreak this time. 7 years since we won a League Cup, and that 6 years after the FA Cup, so that’s quite a bit of time with so little success isn’t it., and all the while watching, first, United winning everything in sight, before along came moneyed Chelsea and then moneyed City, as we ourselves got to, but then lost, the FA Cup Final, the League Cup Final, the Europa League Final, and then the Champions League Final.
What this team has done this season, for us – the fans, for the manager, for the players themselves – certain players in particular (you know who I mean) ….what this team has done this season, for all of us, is to get rid of a big fucking King-Kong-sized gorilla off our backs.
Since the Champions League era, post Heysel, we’ve now won it twice and lost it twice – 4 finals. Plus we’ve won and lost in 2 Uefa Cup finals. United, for example, after two decades almost unrivalled domestically can’t even match that. Chelsea scraped one, and at least Arsenal and Tottenham can say they got there. As for City, well… I expect it’s coming, but who knows.
Anyway, fuck City and the rest – we should just bask in this because it’s reward for years of hard work and strong, exciting football, of enduring the failures at the last hurdle, of continuing to sing and believe that something truly special wasn’t far off. Because we are Liverpool.
Now let’s go and win the League.

And then we did.
