Villains
« on: January 11, 2022, 05:46:30 pm »
I’m not doing a poll like A@A, I’m just wondering who are some peoples favourite villains (in all media, not just films) or who even is the greatest, baddest villain of all time?!

I’ve got a few:-

Homelander - The Boys (tv show)
Darth Vader - Star Wars (films)
Phil Mitchell - Eastenders (tv show)
Anton Chigurh - No Country for Old Men (film)
Joker - The Dark Knight (film)

We all love a villain or two, sometimes even more than the hero!

Some crackers in here already, I echo the Phelan shout and should have included him in my list!

Why is it we sometimes prefer villains to the protagonists anyway? Is it because they are flawed?

Did he actually do anything in the films?

Not that you'd notice. It was all behind the scenes and set up over ages.

You might want to give these books a go;

The Silmarillion
Beren and Lúthien

These will help you get a bit of context of who and more importantly, what Sauron is and was.

Tried but could not get into the Silmarillion - was well into Marillion as a teen though.

If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.
