Absolute dickheads the three of them
It seems to be the worst kept secret that there were others beyond those three - they just weren't driving or injured in the crash so have so far slipped under the radar.  Keogh was sitting in the back for starters, so who was riding shotgun in that car?

Derby County supporting brother-in-law says they went out for a club funded meal but after the management team went home a group of players stayed on for extra drinks (and *allegedly* other stimulants).  He also says that the drinking/socialising culture started under and was encouraged by Lampard on the understanding it didn't infringe on their football.

Keogh's career is pretty much over if at 33 he's suffered a knee injury that is going to keep him out for at least eight months.  Tom Lawrence and Mason Bennett weren't well liked anyway - the former for being arrogant and the latter for being a bit rubbish - so I doubt they'll be in the first team anytime soon.

As with Dean Saunders a few weeks ago; entitled idiots who deserve whatever is coming there way.  And, whatever that may be, they should be grateful that they didn't kill themselves or somebody else.

No sympathy for them, they could afford a taxi there & back certainly Keogh, who should have known better, ironic, team bonding session ends with this fallout, not surprising they were other Derby players there, should be left as it is though, unless they did something stupid too.

There were cars laid on for them by the club that they turned down as well, didn't even need to pay for taxis, utter dickheads.

tom Lawrence to be fair has the face of a massive tit, seen some pics of some other players it seems in that pub so would stack up if more were there. And it also gives cocu a free pass for this season to be honest

Stoke 0 v 1 Huddersfield

Shots - 16 v 4
Shots on target - 0 v 1

15 league games without a win for Stoke.. How Jones hasn't been sacked yet I will never know.

Bottom of the league and 6 points from safety.
And if the rain stops, and everything's dry.. she would cry, just so I could drink tears from her eyes.

It's been confirmed that Barnsley have sacked Daniel Stendel after a difficult start to the season (one league win in 11 games).

I imagine there'll be some disappointment/anger amongst the fanbase - it seems widely accepted that promotion last year was impressive, rather than expected, and he seemed to enjoy a good rapport with the supporters (his passion seemed reminiscent of our own manager, and it was great to see photos of him 'out on the town' just hours after the secured promotion last season).  They've replaced him with their U18's manager for the time being.

In touch with Barnsley a bit, due a friend supporting them.

Apparently one of the town's boozers were putting on a bit of a celebration evening of Stendel's time with the club this evening - he turned up to spend some time with the supporters and show his gratitude.

Sounds like he really put the effort in to understand the town and the club, and to get involved with the supporters.  I'm inclined to think that Barnsley are the sort of club you'd expect to exist long-term between the bottom half of the Championship and the top half off League One, so it seems a shame that they've let a good one go.  Feels like yet more erosion of the concept of 'club', revealing just the stark, cold 'business' behind it.

Following unlikely promotion and probably only a slight-more-worse-than-expected start to the new season, the club statement also stank:

Barnsley Football Club confirms that it has separated from Daniel Stendel with immediate effect. Adam Murray has been appointed caretaker manager.

Was released by Millwall 3 years ago. Makes sense cause they wouldn't know a technical player even if he smacked them in the face.

I don't know all the inner workings but this from the outside this looks really poor from Derby.

The two drink-drivers (who weren't injured in the incident) have been given six week fines, while the passenger (injured for effectively the duration of his contract) is fired for "gross misconduct".

One is 33 and has a body that is fucked, the other two are in their mid 20s and they could get a decent fee for them.

Bit surprised Keogh is on £25k a week, whoever gave him that much should follow him out the door

It sounds like Derby have viewed each incident in isolation. Potentially, Keogh's role as club captain is weighted in their decision. I wonder if Derby will lose an impending legal challenge if they argue the injuries Keogh suffered left him unable to fulfill his contract. The other two easily could have suffered similar injuries and left the scene with Keogh left unconscious. They also wanted him to take a paycut. There has to be more to this sacking,

it was an out of work injury which is probably why they could sack him, I have a suspicion of what else may have happened here and if Keogh doesn’t appeal the rumour mill will be in overdrive, but yeah as a 33 year old club captain he should know better than the other two, Lawrence has the issue with his mums death and struggling to deal with it so at least he has an excuse there

Saw it earlier - its the first they've topped any division for 13 years, which is the longest out of all 92 football league clubs. Surprisingly, Sunderland are now the longest - 12 years - despite playing in three different divisions during that time.

Yeah, they got 6 points from the first 2 league games and were top on goals scored ahead of City in 2nd. Liverpool, Newcastle, Blackburn and Arsenal all missed the midweek round of fixtures and sat on 3 points after 1 games. Everton reverted to type the following weekend and lost to Reading.
