I like how he can play right back too. So next season we have Clyne and Trent with Fabinho who can play RB and Robertson, Moreno and Milner who can play LB if required. This signing brings a great bit of balance. Good to see us targeting players that just make sense.

Obviously a different league but he's been top fucking quality for Monaco nearly every time I've seen him play. He's got some way to be thought of as Elite at this club but this is a genuinely brilliant signing. He ripped City apart from deep two seasons back.

Feel for Henderson a bit. Great guy, but i'm loving the ruthlessness.

To think some doubt that Klopp possesses this trait.

Could Henderson play further forward again? Thought he was great playing there under Rodgers.

Wonder what his squad number would be.  3, 8, 10 and 13 all available under 23.  Would like to see him in 23 perhaps.

Naby taking 8 and Fekir 10 =).

I could see him taking #3.

I wish this was how all transfers were done at every club. I only just realised how exciting this kind of under-the-radar transfer conduct is. The media and journalists with their early leaks and rumours are keeping this from us!

Fabinho and Keita I would imagine start , with you'd imagine Capt Hendo. That means Fekir could start on the bench! Or, finally we have so much quality and versatility that we can change style and system and still be awesome!!
It's early days, but Henderson's place is by no means guaranteed. The captaincy doesn't mean much too Klopp, and I tend to agree with him.

It also could be that Hendo would be deployed further up the field as an 8 instead of the 6 he's been playing.

100% penalty record too I believe.

This signing confirms two things I have long believed to be true:-
1. Ignore the media, they have no fucking clue who we are targeting anymore. It's a tight ship we are running.
2. Sorting out the spine, and particularly midfield, is the #1 priority now. This is huge!

I've been wanting this singing so bad. I actually name dropped him all the time but figured he was destined for United for some reason and so was suggesting someone in his mould. To actually get the #1 target for DM is outrageous. He is everything we need - very much the Sven Bender to shield the defence and protect attacks that we have been missing. He's a beast in the air too. Brilliant.

Ticks the ability to win aerial duel too ;)

Most aerial duels won in Ligue 1 last season.

Just like when Mane was our alternative to Gotze, and it worked out brilliantly. If it is to be believed that Jorginho was our first choice. i can see the same working out here with our back-up. He'll end up being the better success of the two.

Monaco fans all think of him as one of their own, reading from their forum. He's spent 5 years there and they're mentioning some positional sacrifices he has made for the team (switching from FB to DM & other positions when needed). Perfect Klopp player then.

We've been needing this protection for our defense for a while. He can also drive forward with the ball. He's got the physical presence and he can give the shove to the hardmen in the Premier League. Top class work from Edwards & our transfer team.

Fabinho and Keita should start , with you'd imagine Capt Hendo. That means Fekir could start on the bench! Or, finally we have so much quality and versatility that we can change style and system and still be awesome!!

I was talking about this in the short-lived Fabinho rumour thread. It will be very interesting to see how Henderson is used next season. With Keita and Fabinho (and Lallana and Ox and Wijnaldum - and goodness knows who else!), what will his role be? I'm not saying Hendo's "worse" than any of those players by the way, but it will be interesting nonetheless. Klopp loves him and he's the captain. I think he's very good, settled and so important to how we play.

Of course it's always great to make your squad beefier and more versatile. I hope we can see good competition for places and keep all these great players happy and in rhythm :)
