Decent accommodation in Liverpool
« on: March 30, 2014, 09:20:12 pm »
Hi all,

A mate and me are planning to come over for the last game of the season. Obviously won't have a hope of tickets(or would there be..) but still love to come for the title race and all that. Does anybody know a decent place to sleep for three nights without paying the world? Any further help on yet another matter would be much appreciated. Cheers!

I've stayed at the HOAX hostel before. Was good enough.

The HOAX Hostel is good value and right in the City center.

We've got an apartment booked which officially sleeps up to 6 people although no doubt the floor space will end up being used by the rest of our lot as well!

Did a Travelodge in the city centre 4 the Sunderland home game, £27. Not bad value & about 10mins walk from LimeSt station. Try www.travelodge.co.uk  & google money off vouchers, got £5 off.

I've been able to go to the Spurs game and I went to the Podworks. It's very clean, with shower and all. the only negative is sleeping underground with no window. We paid about 25 pounds for 2 people (1 night).

Very nice to stay there for only one night. It's located in Henry street. I took us about 5 minutes to walk to the central bus station and 10 to the Albert Docks.

Thank you Stevie! It was a pleasure.

My last visit was Chelsea match and the Travelodge in Aigburth was 40 quid only and excellent. Good links into town.

The Premier Inn in Childer Thornton has double rooms at £67 for Sunday night.
It is right by Little Sutton station and trains into Liverpool Central take 30-35 mins.

Ampthill suites available in the south of the City
That's a decent find and walking distance to St Michael's, so you can get the train up to Sandhills and take the (can't believe I'm about to type this...) "Soccerbus" up to the ground. Fucking lovely area that too - when the weather's okay ;D

If you are staying here tonight (monday) no better place than the Hilton where you just may brush shoulders with a few stars & apparently you can stay up very late and make as much noise & disturbance as possible.

It's called Mad Monday which only happens once a year, get down there with your drums!

He's a good lad him. I think his name is Kev. I spent a Chrimbo day in there in 2004 I think it was as my then girlfriend use to help out there now and then. Here's a boss story of Kev. Once I got back from a sticking the thumb out and getting the odd bus or ... jibbing the trains. Berlin down to the Black Sea and up again and the whole thing took about 5 or 6 weeks . I gets home at goes to Keiths on the Lane and Kev was there . His exact words were . You look a bit bedraggled mate. I was . I told him why. This is why he is sound though. He gets a bottle of red in for us both and threw us a few quid to get some food in on me way back to ours as he knew I was skint.

If this isn't a good recomendation for the hostel then I don't know what is .

Nice one - Murph (Kev) used to play for my Sunday league team, a sound lad and a decent player. As you know they are always having a brew round that nice kitchen table down in the back there. Some of the stories are boss, for example Bansky used to stay there, and he offered to paint a wall for them and they turned him down :D

I've sat down stairs I think it was watching a Derby. Kin ell ? What year ? I'll try. 2003/4 .My then girlfriend ( who I reckon is the onely one that I wish to turn the clock back for  ) her Da' was a Bluenose and he met his future wife in there when he was helping out there .  I think he was a friend of Kev's anyway. He's blue if I remember .

That Banksie story is boss as I never knew that. I seen a a little Banksie one yesterday on the corner of Duke  St and Berry St. It was were the old big Banskie one was .

 ;D

Anyway ... back to the footie.

I really can't think of what game it was as in the score but we won at Goodison and her arl fella was dead sound .. one of these ones ... so what do you then lad ?

Nice one Kavah.
