I hope know one minds but I have sent an email to Michael Owens racing stables giving them a link to this topic in the hope that he may be able to help in anyway. Someone may have easier access to Michael but it was just an idea, you never know.

AS MOST OF YOU ARE AWARE RUBENS SON LIAM HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A TYPE OF LYMPHATIC CANCER,WELL RUBEN HAS BEEN SAT AT HOME KNOWING THAT THERE IS NOT A GREAT DEAL HE CAN DO ,BETWEEN HIMSELF AND HIS BROTHER IN LAW (EXPERIENCED MOUNTIAN CLIMBER) THEY DECIDED THEY WOULD CLIMB BEN NEVIS FOR THE TEENAGE CANCER TRUST AND ALSO THE STAFFORDSHIRE BULL TERRIER WELFARE/RESCUE ALL PROCEDES/ DONATIONS TO BE SPLIT 50/50 BETWEEN THE TWO CHARITIES,THEY AIM TO DO THIS IN SEPTEMBER 2008

a bank account has been set up .everything has been done thru proper chanels,
there are also sponsor forms available,

ruben/liams dad heard from club today,they are going to post liam the signed shirt as they are very bizzy with commitments and champions league ect
its sad that liam isnt healthy enough to go on the visit to liverpool,
but he will be so pleased wen he recieves his shirt,he dosnt know..will be a great suprise.

Just glad the lad will get his last big dream and will put a big smile upon his face. I'm sure your all proud of him.

Hope he has a wonderful time if he gets down there and hopefully number 6 will be won so he can look down on it and enjoy it with us.

EDIT - Just seen he isn't healthy enough to go down which is a shame. But the shirt will still give him that big smile

I have read stories like this before and they have upset me but never before have I felt so desperate to act. Absolutely heartbreaking, I think its the lads dying wish was such a simple one.

the bloody club should do it without even thinking twice about it. id have the whole bloody team sent up after training. can anyone tell rafa about this?

the club have done alot but its just the unforseen circumstances that liam cant have is dream day..we are working on alternatives so will keep u all posted as soon as we get any more info

just had a fone call from jayne...LIAMS SIGNED LPOOL SHIRT HAS JUST ARRIVED ..his dad ruben has decided not yet to give him it as he is away to radiotherapy at the RVI HOSP n after wards he comes home n has few hours sleep as it takes it out a him ...then at teatime they goin let him open the parcel... ruban goin send some pics l8r off liam wearing the signed shirt so soon aswe will post them on here

cant wait to see that pic. a very good friend of mine has just been told her dad has days to live due to cancer. i know this sounds shitty but why does it happen to the least deserving. im sure u all know what i mean. there are ppl out there that dont deserve to draw breath and its the poor fuckers like Liam that get shafted. gutted for the lad. hes gonna love that shirt
