Lots of huffing and puffing from Villa comes to nothing.

16th, 11th, 15th, 15th are his finishes there so far. I think they could do better than him. They've been in the league for ten years now and looked well better in their first few years there.

I think those finishes highlight how he’s doing a very good job. That side is littered with championship level players yet somehow he keeps keeping them up.

Their recruitment in those first few years you mentioned saw players of a much higher quality brought in. Other than Ward-Prowse (who isn’t particularly special), if they got relegated I don’t think any of their players would have PL suitors.
Rafa Benitez: "I’ll always keep in my heart the good times I’ve had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager."

They consistently sell their best players and buy shit in return. Regardless of manager that is a relegation level squad.

Can't be too harsh on Villa. Isn't easy away to promoted sides first up

I forever will think that Gerrard made the wrong decision leaving mid season. There's no reason he couldn't have made the Europa League final with Rangers and I think they may have kept hold of the league title as well. Hindsight and all but that would have been the perfect time to move on. Plenty of clubs would have been after him IMO. With Villa there was always going to be a ceiling. Success there would be taking them into the top half, the move just made no sense IMO.

It’s looking more and more like a North London battle for the title and is trying to pick up the scraps
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Really looking like we’ll be challenging Leeds and Bournemouth for top 10. North London looking on fire, while Newcastle cruising to Europe.
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

That Everton bench is absolutely filthy. First XI is no better. Don’t see how that crew would score 30 goals.

No idea if Warrington, Mills are two youngsters or a 19th century workhouse. No recognized forwards in that Everton side so I assume Gordon is spearheading the attack atop the diving board

Chelsea should win this comfortably.

Calvert-Lewin is the only real threat Everton have when he's fit and in form, can't see them scoring today looking at that team and bench.

It'll be interesting to see how Fulham and Bournemouth fare. I've had them both dead certs for relegation and I'd obviously still believe they will both go down but great results for them today.

How many times over the years have you saw teams like those play well against us and you think 'If you played like that every week you'd have no problems' ??? - Fucking loads  ;D

Both have to keep it up and they'll give themselves a chance. If Everton start this season poorly they'll struggle to find their feet all season IMO. Last season for the first two months they were fine. I think they're circling the drain to be honest now.

Yeah he's done. Fat Frank potentially signalling for a stretcher. They're already playing Yerry Mina who was supposed to be on the way outs.

Could accelerate their need for Conor Coady. Funny how they've realised Michael Keane is that shit now that he can't even be the first man of the bench here.

Probably going to be a bit of added time here.

Can't blame the linesman I don't think, he can't see through Pickford.

Pickford on the other hand could have just accepted it was going for a corner rather than trying to set up Havertz.

And if Pickford would have left it because he knew it was out when he kicked it back in, Godfrey wouldn't have this injury.
