They'll take time to adjust, but your'e kidding yourself if you think they are not improving with every season under Pochittino.
They won 86 pts last season, they won't be improving on that.

I know what you're saying but that could be said about us last season, our goals we're inflated due to handing out s a few thrashings early in the season

That's a fair point, but would you swap any of Son, Eriksen and Alli for Coutinho, Mane or Salah? I don't think I would. I think Alli's a fantastic player and it's scary to think what he could develop into, but I'm not sure which of our three, if any, I'd swap out for him.

That's not to say that there are no parts of Spurs' team I would take over ours. Their keeper I'd take certainly, their centre backs are preferable to ours, Matip aside perhaps, I think Dembele's a tremendous footballer and I'm glad he's out for this one, and Kane over Firmino even if Bobby suits the way we play better. Also, I'm sure there were some Spurs fans saying Harry Winks is the next Modric, so maybe him too. Even if they're overrating him (and why would they do that, that's something only Liverpool supporters do, everyone knows that) I'd probably take him just because I like his name.

So, we should give Spurs time to adjust but you've already decided that we've "regressed".

Confident about this game. I think we play in a way that exposes the weaknesses of Spurs' team and recent results show it. Salah is going to love the open spaces at Wembley, may finally see him hit top speed.

Surely playing away at Madrid sapped them. We had a stroll in the park. Advantage us.

Apart form the much needed points if we win we also:

1. Get comfortable and confident in playing at Wembley - this will help in furutre cup finals.

2. Put another psychological dent in their manager's mind. We do well against them. This will help us if we meet them agains at Wmebley (possibly last 8 in the CL?)

3. Start building a pretty good unbeaten run - it would be 6 or 7 unbeaten. #Hardtobeat

4. Psychologically we are still in the title race if we win imo.

Yes, loved that view. I guess United sitting on their edge of their box and stifling his pace was clouding my memory.

This game just got a little more important with the Man U result. We can go level on points while you can close the gap to 4 with only one point between yourselves and Chelsea in 4th. Really hope we can get a result, I don't think we will play you the same as in the past but somehow you guys always score against us.

Moreno, Balotelli and Flanaggan(sp?) have all scored against us lol. Just never know what this fixture will throw up.

I rate Kane highly but I would still take our front three over them including Bobby. He brings something to our play that would be hard for someone else to replicate.

It really is now. Aside from the boost from beating a very strong Spurs side would bring, our next game is a now against a confident Huddersfield team with a manager who knows Klopps football approach inside out.

Given the way the results are panning out, of the 8 games we've played so far, SIX of them have been against teams currently above us in the league. Puts our start in some sort of perspective.

Alderweirald and Kane are probably the best players in their position in the league and even with his errors we really could do with a keeper like Lloris.

Huge game this. Lose and there is a bit of a gap already between us and the top 3 which might be difficult for the players psychologically. Win and despite what has been a relatively poor start, we'd be on the same points as 4th and we'd have a decent run of fixtures coming up. Plus with the 7-0 in the week, a win here would completely draw a line under the poor run you'd feel, and really cement a confidence boost in the team.

Eriksen is more consistent. Great player who pulls the strings for Spurs.
He's steadier over a longer period of time. Coutinho tends to have a blitz, and then drop off. Thankfully he seems to be sorting that. When Coutinho has his blitz, he's much better than Eriksen (at his best), in my opinion.

Plus, I think their games/goals record are scarily identical. Not sure about assists, but I'd imagine Eriksen has a small lead on that one, given he has Kane.

Again, not trying to not knock Eriksen, I'm a big admirer, but if we're talking taking players from Spurs, I wouldn't take Eriksen as he'd be competing with Coutinho.

I know what you're saying but that could be said about us last season, our goals we're inflated due to handing out s a few thrashings early in the season

Or you could be rational about it and say our goal total was deflated by losing Coutinho, Lallana and Mane for extended periods.

I didn't say he would't, I just prefer our attacking set up.

How many does Kane have this season?  Wouldn’t surprise me if he is not that far off from out scoring Coutinho, Firmino, Salah and Mane on his own.

I’d give anything to have Harry Kane in our side.

The impression I get, and I may be way off base here (as I don't watch much of SPurs), is that Coutinho's a better dribbler and has a better shot, while Eriksen is a more consistent passer, more of a "string-puller," as you say. I think Eriksen's indirect freekicks are better than Coutinho's, but prefer Coutinho's direct ones.

You may be correct in that Eriksen's more consistent, but I think Phil's improved in that regard every season and his top level is higher than Eriksen's. I don't think there's an awful lot in it, but I'd definitely take Coutinho over Eriksen, and it seemed like that was Barcelona's thinking too.

This game is an opportunity. Yes, it will be a difficult one. Tottenham are strong and their attack with Kane and Eriksen will cause us some problems. I say will because they will find some chances, just like Coutinho, Firmino and Salah will create something for us. We need to be focused and we need to take our chances in this game.
I said opportunity because it's a game where I consider every point a bonus. It's the bottom half sides we need to beat all the time. So let's hope we can stay concentrated. Looking forward to a good game.
