Well in to dudleyred, Smurfite, Vaughan and all the others who've helped to get it this far

So an update for you all and its good news for once!!

The flag was eventually located in the ground after we looked everywhere for it! Not complaining as got to see a bit behind the scenes, in and out the players tunnel etc.

We managed to get it unfurled and whilst the damage (we think caused by water over the years) is visible (see pic) - on the flag that size it looks ok and is certainly usable still.

Next steps are Vaughan is going to check with the wheelchair users in the Annie road lower to make sure they have no objections to it passing over their heads. If they are happy then it will be available to use from the Huddersfield game onwards.

More good news is Vaughan is happy to arrange people to be escorted back to the Kop or wherever so we should be ok for volunteer numbers.

Huge thanks to Smurfite off here who helped this morning. He has said he's happy to be a regular face doing the flag so that's great news and really appreciated. Thanks also to the two non RAWKITES who helped!

The flag is back in its bag and at the end of the Kop with the other wavers etc for storage

Once I hear back from Vaughan that we've got the nod we'll get mobilised for using it.

Spoke to Vaughan- he apologises but he hasn’t boxed off his end yet. He said he’ll do his best this weekend with a view to giving us the nod for Maribor - will keep you updated!

I’m not sadly. I’ll be at the game but not a clue how close to kick off I’ll be due to work.

Let’s work on the basis that we’ll be fine to walk back to the kop as per chat with Vaughan. I reckon if you’re happy to do it and take the lead we’ll need three others to help you?

Good question but not really as we haven't done it yet.

I suspect by the time the flag has been grabbed and taken to Annie road end and we've worked out which corners are which then I think 2:30 in the ground will be about right - cant do it too early given wont be enough heads to surf it above!

Fair enough, I can help out (assuming you mean about 7:15 as its an evening kick-off  ).  Tend to usually be there a little bit early.

We head over and do the flag at around 7:30/35 (when the Centenary flag starts going) then get it packed away and be moving back over to The Kop at 7:40. That should let us get into our seats for the end of YNWA and just before kickoff. If Vaughan gives us the go ahead we'll ask him to arrange a Steward to meet us at 7:20 to walk us to and fro.

If anyone isn't in the Kop or the Annie and wants to help out we'll sort it on a game by game basis I reckon. We'll get a better idea of how it works once we've actually done it on a matchday I reckon.

I would perhaps just look at that meeting time again. It's a 7.45 kick-off, not 8pm. Meeting at 7.20 in the corner doesn't really give you much time at all.

Can't wait for this now! And Stoz is right, far better to have the extra time for it. I've messaged the folks who are helping out with this - any additional volunteers feel free to get in touch though - and we'll be meeting up at 7:00 instead just to be safe.
