Best of luck Danny. It's a shame your time here was ravaged by injuries, but I'm sure you have the tools to be an important part of Southampton's season.

Have a great season!

Didn't know he was a boyhood Saints fan.  Great letter from Klopp, very classy, but that's all the more reason I really hope it works out well for him - all the very best to him.

Danny will appreciate that, a lot. It will get us 3 points off one of our rivals as he nets the winner and goes berserk.

Hopefully against Everton.

Great stuff from Klopp, and highlights why players love him and want to come here. Now, compare that to the gobshite down the East Lancs..

There is another option. Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple.

Would have preferred to have offloaded Origi and kept Danny, given the choice. But obviously Danny was the easier to move on, or at least had the will to. Genuinely think he could still be a great player, probably never top class, but still bloody good!

However, he's moved on and we've got a cracking fee, albeit next summer. Good luck to him, hopefully he has a cracker of a season staying fit and banging in the goals for them... Just not against us!

Expect we'll be offloading Origi before 30th August.

Anyway best of luck Danny. Lovely lovely lovely lovely lovely lad

Clever move by the club, brilliant opportunity for Danny. He gets plenty of game time with Southampton and bags a load of goals, keeping them in a decent league position and making the fans happy, also helps us out when they take points off City and the Red Mancs. Saints think they have a bargain on their hands and feel a lot better about their dealings with us following the VVD thing, which then means when their next starlet arises we can go in again and shop at our feeder club without it causing a ruckus.

Good luck Agent Ings, and thanks for being a positive influence on the dressing room that will clearly be missed. Hope he stays injury free and shows what he is made of.

Good luck to Danny though I was so hoping it happened for him but the injuries have done for his Anfield career.

Article on Ings by Paul Joyce. Might be behind paywall though.

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/danny-ings-interview-at-liverpool-i-would-go-home-sit-with-my-dogs-and-feel-upset-i-moved-to-southampton-to-be-happy-tc2d89g8p

I really hope he does well at Southampton.

Quote
It speaks volumes for how he was viewed as a footballer, also, that on the day that he left, Salah challenged him to a sporting bet as to who would score the most Premier League goals. They stand at one each after the Egyptian decided to scrap his opening-day strike because Ings’s late move meant he did not start Southampton’s first fixture.
For some reason, this made me very happy.

Feels like the injuries and the pressure of playing for the club you support was just too much for Ings here. Looks reborn now. Good luck to the lad.

I appreciate it's a bit petty but do we know if the initial loan deal contained a clause saying he couldn't play against us?  Looking at Southampton's other forward options I'd prefer not to face him (and before I get accused of being a bed-wetter, I think we'd win either way but it's always nice to make things that bit easier).

i dont know about that

also i thought he was limping a little when he came off, then again his game is based around a hell of a lot of running plus he has started the last 4 games. not sure when he last did that in the league. at least three years back i reckon

wish him all the best, he really seems like a good guy and i think he is a lot better than luck at Liverpool allowed him to be, am i making sense?

In this Southampton team? Won't happen. If he stays healthy, he should get into double figures though.

Couldn't see a thread anywhere for Dingsy, mods please merge if there is one.
I feel he is really starting to flourish now he's fit and getting a run of games. He can't be far off the England squad now can he? He has more goals and assists this season than Sir Hareth of Kane in less minutes on the pitch.

He's better than battling relegation.
