13 years ago today Stevie made his Liverpool debut against Blackburn as a last minute substitute for Vegard Heggem. Little did we know how special a player we had making his debut. Thanks for 13 years of great service Stevie, and hopefully many more.

Really hope he has got several years yet. He should get along to Giggs' yoga classes.

Imagining Stevie getting a run of games in the same side as Suarez, Bellamy, Enrique and Johnson is mouth watering.

One thing I love about seeing old clips of him is how skinny he was when he was 18/19. Basically struggling to fill his shirt out.

Just watching Goal Rush: Steven Gerrard and i forgot about some of the screamers he scored, he needs to start hitting more shots from 25 yards or more.... he just finds the net every time haha can't wait for him to come back!  ;D

I was just thinking that - is the last official news from the club Kenny's interview after the first game he missed when he indicated it wasn't that serious?

Infections can be nasty fuckers and the club and Stevie are probably just being cautious which is no bad thing. I think we'll probably see him start coming off the bench for a few games too as if he's been in a cast for a month he will of been very immobile and probably lost all his fitness. I reckon we will see him after the QPR game.

If Lucas misses any time that would put us down our best two midfielders.  Hope Steven is fit soon; we could really use his presence on the pitch again!

He's gonna need at least a week's full training before he's involved again so can't see him making the bench for Fulham. When's he meant to be back in training with the rest of the lads?

I'm sure they do but I dont think they're going to lay down and let him walk back into our team.

Brilliant for us, well Kenny to have such quality in competition for places though.

Scott, any idea how his recovery is going and when he'll be back? If the Lucas rumors are indeed true, we really need him to come back and make a significant contribution in our midfield.

This. Even a rough indication from the club would be useful as opposed to antagonistic hints to the media about 'how well he's doing' .

Cheers Scott, hopefully it was just a case of Kenny taking the Carling Cup seriously and not wanting to take chances with Stevie rather than him having had a setback.

I can see Gerrard playing more in the 'lucas' role after the injuries to be honest. Well more of reserved role at least, especially as he will still need to be eased back in. I know people will say you lose a lot of his game when he sits. But him and spearing are the only real options to replace Lucas. That would also allow the likes of Henderson and Shelvey to compete for the more forward thinking midfielder. That would also allow us to go for a three man midfield when we don't have the ball.

Obviously this is not ideal but a midfield of

Gerrard         Adam

    Shelvey/Hendo

looks pretty solid and untill Stevie comes back Spearing can get an opportunity.
