The lad was a top talent - a wonderkid. Who knows where he'd be?I bet he never expected to be sat in a reserve team at 22 years of age with only about 20 first team games under his belt.

That's the point, who knows where he'd be? John Ebbrell, John Welsh, anthony Le Tallec, there's millions of them

Fair enough he needs to prove himself. But the club needs to do better as well. I want to stress that we don't have to play him. What we need to do though is make a decision. Sell, that's fine with me. We've just kept him, with little or no purpose. I said when we were about to loan him to Spain that it was pointless. It gave him nothing and it gave us nothing. Which was obvious from the start. We just pushed him out. Come summer and?So we keep him. And? Nothing. So now we want to loan him out? Why? In what way will that improve his chances at LFC? We've had a single striker for half the season and Pacheco has not played much at all. He's behind Suso and Sterling, definitely behind Suarez, Sturridge and Borini, of course also behind Downing, Gerrard and Shelvey. I'd expect him to be behind the forgotten man Assaidi. Morgan? Yesil? We're thinking of signing Ince. What are we waiting for with Pacheco?

We can't keep doing this. Sell, or try and include him, but don't put him on hold for another year. He may as well retire now. And Pacheco isn't the only one in that boat.
Agreed maybe a missed opportunity for everyone but such is football and yes he needs to be loaned or sold.

I just wish we could do these things so much quicker. We have a few cases now. Pacheco, Wilson and Spearing. Flanagan is close too (has three players ahead of him). We need to make decisions, which most likely means we need to sell them. As soon as we can. When we're as slow as we've been with Pacheco, we can't use him, we won't get much money for him and his career is just going downhill. So everone loses. And much of the hard work done at the Academy goes to waste.

Was just scrolling my phone, and saw a clip of Podolski getting sent off in some charity 5 a side event. The weirdest bit for me was seeing Dani Pacheco was one of his teammates!

Dissapointing career he ended up with considering his promise at one point, about 8 teams since leaving us, and currently at a midtable Polish club.

(Maybe one to move to the former players forum)
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

Bags of talent but a salutary lesson into how different playing youth football with little on the line is to playing first team football (at any professional level) where suddenly peoples jobs/livelihoods are at stake.

He looked decent though for the first team so was strange he couldn't have a good career. Might not have been Liverpool quality in reality but he wasn't the kind of youth player who just looked out of his depth when he made the step up, he played well.

Best I’ve seen for us in the under age teams. Was convinced he would make it but wasn’t to be. One of the most extreme examples of a player not being able to make the jump to senior football.

Not even close to Nemeth and Sterling. Or even Kent,Hammill,Insua or Anderson. Too weak but he had promise.

If he can run then how about we play him in midfield.

Would be like Fowler returning all over again.

He was far better than all of them bar Sterling and Suso. I would still say he had a bigger impact on the youth teams than those.
