Reina
Johnson - Skrtel - Agger - Enrique
Spearing - Henderson
Kuyt - Gerrard - Bellamy
Carroll

Sensible lineup. If Kuyt isn't busy helping out Johnson with Bale, he can push forward to support Carroll and make Gerrard lean right to whip in crosses.

I agree that would be my lineup, with Suarez coming on for final 30 mins. Spurs will come to win, so we have a very good chance of beating them. We only struggle when facing the 'parked bus'.

I think they will happily but 5 across midfiled and play for a draw.

Doubt it. I don't recall us ever playing for a draw under Redknapp. I can see us perhaps playing Parker and Sandro though in central midfield to try and take control - especially if Lennons out. Something like this:

------------Friedel-------------
Walker Kaboul King Ekotto
-----Parker------Sandro-----
Van der Vaart Modric Bale
---------Adebayor------------

I think he's ok judging from his Twitter jobby the other day:

Thanks for all the tweets last night! I'm okay but just to be safe I went off, my calf felt a bit uncomfortable.

I expect he'll probably play anyway. He does tend to rush himself back from injuries though

Even if VDV doesn't play, I'm more than happy with Kranjcar in that role, thought he was one of our best players against Wigan.

Gonna be a tough game this , Spuds are a decent side now.
Got a mate who supports these and all ive had all season off him is 'were gonna win the league' and 'CL ? No chance for you lot'
so would dearly love to beat these even more so.

Would want Spearing in there.  Loads of energy and a terrier in his mentality.  Can pick a pass as well.

Downing isn't getting mentioned here and for this game I think he'd be better than Kuyt on the wing, better defense and more pace.
Therefore

             Back five
                Spearing
Downing.                 Bellamy
                 Gerrard
        Suarez.      Carroll

So you're pointing to not conceding rather than going for goals?

I'd be very pleased if Kenny plans the same squad sheet as on guardian.

No sorry mate I disagree, Kuyt is better defending than Downing on the right and we may well need him with Bale on their left. Agree that Downing has more pace but deffo not better at defending.

I'm pointing to controlling the ball, especially against bale, which will win us this game. Save the cheerleader, save the world. Comtrol the midfield, control the game.

Kuyt works harder, but don't think he can defend bale. If he is facing bale he will be beat. Also he isn't a great crosser either, even if downing hasn't been great he is still better I think.

What's the weather going to be in England on Monday? Is there any danger the game will be postboned?

Here in Tyrol/Austria it's snowing and the temperatures will go down to -30°C this night. So I wonder what it's like in England?
Thank you Stevie! It was a pleasure.

To be fair it is not Dirk's job to defend against Bale, that duty falls to Glen or Kelly, I am sure that should Dirk feature that he will assist them in that en-devour but, Dirk's job is to be an attacking threat, and play our passing game to our advantage. and to create chances for him or other to score from.

Hope we stuff the c*nts.

Spurs fans have basically become what they despised - Arsenal fans. Harping on about their great football like they're entitled to fucking win trophies and games because of it. Pretending they're some sort of fucking juggernaut of a club because they've had ONE fucking season in the champions league and beat two decent sides. Embarrassing bunch of big-headed c*nts.

Hopefully their manager will be in jail soon and they can have a summer of everyone sniffing around Bale and Modric, offering them twice as much as the pittance they're on at their small club, and generally fucking up their plans as soon as they've started.

Fucking weapons.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

It's good that we have some form and a selection headache. Wouldn't be surprised if Kenny puts a man marker job for Henderson on modric to make sure he doesn't get 3 seconds on the ball the whole game. Hendersons motor and just presence without having to make the tackle will force modric to not hold possession. I know Kelly is good but Johnson for this game I think. My worry is friedel I can see us having 20 shots in the first half and him having a blinder and a modric pass bale run and ade tap in ala dzenko goal last week with 2 min left to let them nick 3 Pts but hope we take a early chance or three.

                               Reina
Johnson.       Skrtel.          Agger.           Enrique
                               Adebyor

Bale.                 Vdv.              Modric.         Lennon
                                 Gerrard
        Bellamy.               Parker.             Suarez

Dirk is much more solid defensively then Downing is, but Downing is more then a hair quicker. I too would rather see Downing start then Dirk, but not for his defensive abilities, for his pace and crossing. Downing is a must if we start Carroll, but if Carroll is on the bench then it is a toss up as Dirk and Luis can have quite the understanding between them.

It's all about now, right now they are a lot better than us. Lots of clubs have history and claim to be a big club, that is great but it does not mean anything. We have to regain our status as a top four club in England, beating Spurs convincingly will go some way towards doing that.

i think downing will be defensively more helpful than dirk in this one to start. Dirk to come on if we need him or are winning by 2 and need someone just to run around causing balls to the wall havoc.

its the easy way out of not cutting in form players out of the team i think. others have reasons but i see it that way. We have about 6 players who "must play when fit" at the moment and Gerrard and Suarez are two of them.

Can't think of any other reason.

For me, same team that started against Wolves except Gerrad and Suarez for Adam and Henderson

Spearing will play if fit. Only DM we have and against spurs we need one.

If everyone stays fit over the weekend, the only question will be who to play up front. Usual back 5, Spearing Henderson and Gerrard... the rest? Haven't a clue. I do hope Bellamy is keeping warm. This is not a must win game - but I think it will be worth the wait. Should be a cracker. That'll probably mean it will be shit dull of course. 0-0.
