Just spoke to a mate at work who is a Manc...even his is saying he can't see United winning and they always lose at Anfield. Said MU are great to watch but that their CM is totally invisible.

Really hope Agger is fit for this, the pace of their attack can be very dangerous.

Obviously hope Stevie is fit too, and am fairly confident he will be. Two decent cameos, a month of training and another warmup game should set him fine. I'd rather he start and we get on top of the game before he has to go off than relying on him saving the day with 30 mins to go (not that I'm saying we need him...)

Norcih tore them to shreds. . if they had ANY finishing ability at all , they would at least have potted 3.
and I would think that both our wide and midfield play is more organized and disciplined then Norwich. . . . .

twat them.
Stevie, Craig Douglas Bellamy start.
they score first, we score last. 3-1.

If Demento will be as stupid as he's been the last times to put two in the middle against three of us, we'll boss their midfield and win. It's really not fucking nice though to be on an aeroplane during both this game and the Norwich one.

Most Mancs would take a draw! Their midfield is wank, only worried about Rooney dropping in between Lucas and our defence.  He's most dangerous there

13 points from our next 4 matches would be awesome! Really think we have a great possibility here to gain on the top teams! If we want to challenge this year , this match is vital. If we can notch up 3-4 wins over the next 4 game weeks we will have great conficende going the Chelsea and City matches

Wouldn't Spearing be a safer bet as a CM?

Yes. but then we've no width at all. Unless you basically push Lucas and Spearing back and put gerrard as the central AM in a 4-2-3-1. Which would be fine, but isn't how Kenny seems to play

I see the over confidence and arrogance has returned again

How the fu*k people can be so confident we will put 4 past utd is beyond me. It won't happen. I think we will win, but utd are on fire this season so even a draw may be a half decent result, yes we are 5th and doing well....but we aren't as good as everyone seems to think we suddenly are. Much depends on key players over the next 2 weeks of internationals

Have you seen their defence...?

They surrendered a 2-0 lead to FC Basle, at home, only rescuing a point in the dying minutes of the game.
They let Arsenal put two past them when they were playing like a poor pub side.
Norwich carved them open and would have tonked them if they had taken even half their chances.
Chelsea ripped them apart, but didn't take their chances and conceded two offside goals.

Unusual to see so many confident posts ahead of this game, I suppose us being on a high after the derby, the fact we twatted them at home
last season and the fact that they look shaky as fuck without Ferdinand and Vidic is reason enough.
Naturally you'd feel more confident if Agger was fully fit, also if our skipper starts, then who does he replace.
Should be a cracking game, can't wait to see Carroll & Suarez get at them.

Really hope we can turn these bastards over. If we can win this we head into a few fixtures which you expect us to win, which in turn can help us into a good league position.

On a side note, i have a little story to tell of soething that happened today.

I own an old fashioned sweet shop based in Widnes Town Centre. Today I had a middle aged woman and her mother come into my shop. They were having a little look around at our gift section when she questioned why I was selling a Liverpool gum ball machine. I joked that we only sell Liverpool gifts. Upon hearing this she commented that she will never buy anything from our shop again and began walking out. At first I thought she was joking and asked her if she was an Evertonian, she said no and that she was a Man Utd fan and was disgusted I was a red. She said she has bought loads of gift jars from our shop but would never shop here again and that she was disgusted by what our "fans" chant about Munich!

What a fucking small minded, pathetic thing to say! Fuck me I wouldn't even expect this from a young snotty nosed Stretford End fan, never mind a woman of that age! to generalise every fan because of a small minority is ignorant pettiness of the highest order!

They are completely obsessed with us, and it winds me up no end that their fans get away with the constant disgusting bile they chant about us. I hope we do them over good style!! Come on you mighty reds!!!!
Liverpool was made for me and I was made for Liverpool.

Sorry I rather retardedly put this in the Wilson thread.

I would go for the following:

Reina
Kelly
Carragher
Skrtel
Enrique
Kuyt
Gerrard
Lucas
Adam
Downing
Suarez

The worry would be the centre backs with the way they are attacking but I think we can combat their pressing by playing 3 in midfield.

I see what you mean but on the other hand playing 3 in midfield, could mean space for Young and Nani on the flanks to get at our full backs
and exploit any space in behind. Andy Carroll could seriously unsettle De Gea, we saw what Crouch did to Jones last week.

To be honest you would expect it to be more of a 4-5-1 as Kuyt and Downing would no doubt be expected to cover the full backs.

Right, I have a feeling Kenny will stick with the big man up front now that he's gotten going, but I wouldn't be disappointed if the above
was the starting line up given the ammunition we'd have in reserve with Henderson, Maxi and Bellamy etc.

Has your mate at work only started to support Utd over the last couple of years? we always beat them at Anfield? Man I wish that was true. The last couple of years our record has been very good but before then they kept beating us a lot. In saying that if gerrard starts which hopefully he will I think we can get a positive result.

I am a little worried about our defending. On their day, they can be pretty quick with passing the ball around lately. I think their weak areas are defense and goalkeeper. We should really try to press them as much as we can and take our chances. With 2 up, they´re gonna loose it completely just like in the recent games.

One thing does need to be said: in the post-Benitez era, there was media-led clamour (but also some politicking going on at the club) to make the club more English; the idea being that the club had lost the very essence of what it means to be ‘Liverpool’. Guillem Ballague 18/11/10

I certainly agree that Suarez and Carroll are two of the most dangerous forwards in the league - and for different reasons too. Expecting to score.
However, I feel they will score too. They've scored plenty this year and even though it seems they are missing Cleverley (never thought i'd say that..); Rooney, Hernandez, Berbatov, Young, Nani, Anderson, Valencia.. are all capable of scoring goals.

2-1 to us.
