Having world class attacking players always gives you a chance despite how bad the rest is. Same happened in the Real match.

Is that 3-4 games in a row when Messi has scored a free kick.

All been different types of FK's he's scored with as well.

If we do play them, can't give away free-kicks anywhere up to 40 yards out from the center of the goal

It's ridiculous - this season he has 5 free kicks in la liga and one in the CL, and last year it was 6/1 - it's like the opposite of Ronaldo who gets progressively worse - the last 2 years he hasn't got a single one in league or CL, 16/17 was 1/1 and 1/2 the year before that.  Before last season he was barely in the top 20 in terms of % scored per attempt, now he is right up there.

Messi is the best we have ever seen but he's not as otherworldly as he once was. His performances in the knockout stages over the last 2 or 3 seasons have been less than they were in his true prime. You look at last season and he was stifled by Roma in the 2nd leg. Often if their physically out-matched in the centre of the park, Barca can struggle to supply him. Roma, Juve and Atletico showed that in the last three CL campaigns. If we do meet, we would offer the same issue ourselves.

Utd for however much of a mess they are at the back could potentially cause them issues with the likes of Pogba, Matic and Herrera. Then you need the speed up top to take advantage of the likes of Roberto, Pique and Alba. They do have that in Martial and Rashford.

I'm not a calling a Utd win at all. Just think there is a potential upset if the luck works out for them at the back.

This  is probably Messi's best season in about 5 years, certainly numerically (he is currently at a goal or assist every 51.7mins in the league, 43.4 mins in the CL; whereas the last 5 years it was 65.2/61.6/65/55.3/66 in league and 97.9/62.3/90/76.4/78.8 in CL - you need to go back to 2012/13 where he bagged a goal every 45.6 mins in league but 82.3 in CL to better it)

This is also Utds worse defense in about the same time - currently they have conceeded 43 goals and had only 7 clean sheets - the last 5 seasons for them are 28/29/35/37/43 and 18/14/15/10/12 - yes, that means they are as BAD defensively as under Moyes in terrms of already conceeded the same number of goals as the whole season with 6 games left, and 5 clean sheets fewer.

There is about as much a chance of an upset as if it were Everton as long as Messi and Suarez are fit

Man, that Messi freekick was beautiful - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T49f3d7h7d0 & https://streamable.com/14say & https://streamable.com/ygbfy

Suarez' equaliser was a belter too - https://streamable.com/i83ji & https://streamja.com/XLWW

Crazy, crazy game - could have been 7-7. ter Stegen actually had a good game - though that defence without Pique... wow.

Coutinho, goal apart, wasn't noticeable, nor affected the play much at all.

Stegan was shiteful for the 2nd and 4th goals. Man United can take hope from their defending.

Said something else to ref who then went to his other pocket. You can actually see costa think ‘fuck that was a bit much’ as soon as he said whatever it was 😂

Alba hits the post for Barcelona - https://streamja.com/7MqL

Oblak save from Coutinho on 27 mins - https://streamable.com/oypxu

Costa red card (straight red card) on 28 mins - https://streamable.com/t2bjz & https://streamja.com/EP3j

(apparently, Costa said to the ref - 'I shit on the whore who birthed you'; 'Me cago en la puta que te pario')

I just can't believe it from Costa - an angel on the pitch, usually... I thought he said 'Excuse me my good man, but with the greatest respect - I believe this decision you are making is not the correct one'...

'Shaun Vandersteen, in Barcelona, has an idea what Costa said, as he “can lipread Spanish”, and it involved Diego doing something very dirty to the referee’s mother’s milk. Thanks for emailing in, Shaun.'
