No one was around Castellon around 4. Got to villareal now and two bars full on Plaza Mayor so I would say worth coming sooner rather than later.

Shambles that after the game.

Three times on the tannoy they said we would be escorted to coaches back to Valencia o Castellon

Then a final tannoy saying we would be kept in

Police horses at the front and streets lined with police. Until the front of th stadium when th horses fucked off and police cordon dissapeared and not the coach in sight

When we finally got to the coaches they were ideal. Got on, filled up pretty quickly, and off to Castellon. Just don't understand why they were so far away, and hardly no one giving us directions. Down there and turn right, didn't expect it to be miles away. Could easily have parked much closer.

Exactly, the caps are boss, I wear one to most home games. Wouldn't wear a yellow one myself like though

We walked as far away from the ground as possible as everyone was after a cab, found a busy road with a few cabs coming down and managed to get sorted around 12:00-12:30. Was annoyed, was with my grandad who has a dodgy hip, walking with a husband wife looking for taxis, asked them where they where going and asked if they could share a lift with us, jumped infront of us for a taxi and didn't wana know us. Ok trip, ground was better than I thought it would be, and a bit annoyed that there where quite a few empty seats about. I'd say 200 didn't travel. Oh well, don't worry...

Quality Euro Away. Best Euro Away for food that is!

Terrible organisation from villareal to Castellon... We stopped about 30 cars in the middle of the main road... Last one gave us a lift to Castellon. Bumped into thommo. Quality night.
Crap game though!

1.10 Euro for a bottle of Estrella - Happy days  ;D

Nightmare start to the day - plane delayed meant that we missed our train at 12pm from Barca to Villarreal - Had a real stroke of luck and there was a lad on the plane who had hired a car and was driving to Valencia to meet his mates who had travelled a day earlier - he offered to drop us off in Castellon - I don't think he's on here but if he is, thanks Indi you are literally a life saver mate!  :wave

Before the game met Phil Thompson - made my day. Top guy, genuinely nice and humble.

View from the stadium was shite in most places - we moved to the front where we could look straight through the plastic. Such a shite design and why they would want to stop the sound of the away fans I have no idea. Thought their fans were dreadful - for a European Semi, it may as well have been a friendly for them....of course until they scored and then that stupid big yellow man thing starts blowing around in front of us. Utter shite.

Found a decent little pub near the ground  after the game with a foosball table and stayed in there until about 2am - went outside and it was literally a ghost town. Walked for about 20 mins and found a main road and luckily got a taxi back to the hotel in Castellon - considering they knew there was going to be 2000 reds descending on the place, the lack of transport & places to eat/drink was surprising.

Eventful trip, good laugh with some really good reds - shite result though.
We’ll still finish in top four - and they won’t. You can quote me on this in May.

Getting the train to Castellon from Barca at 3pm.
I was on that train as well, didn't realise they were so strict on overcrowding so that was the earliest available...went for a few beers in Barca, woke up in Valencia!

No trains available to get to Villareal on time but met two other reds and we shared a cab straight to the stadium.

Police got a bit heavy handed just before kick off, some old skinny bloke trying to dip while waiting to get in to the ground and then the stairs. Shit views and again over zealous police inside.

Finally we found a cab back to Castellon and after a long time searching found a bar with 1 euro bottles of beer and 2 euro tequilas....happy days..?

Comatosed refused a lift to Barca as planned and had the train problem again...not available until late o clock.

Had to bite an expensive bullet and got a cab....my cheap trip just doubled in cost. My fault without a doubt, never again will I just go for a day trip....first and last time.
Back and went straight to work, still it was, as usual an experience worth.

In my day everbody drank and smoked and nobody took drugs. . . . . .

ridiculous situation with the coaches - no directions and miles away - there were 5 of us so couldn't all fit in a cab but managed to get one which took 3 back to castellon.  Two of us managed to find the coaches eventually which were lined up about half a mile from the station . There must have been at least 10 all empty with little prospect of anyone likely to be getting on or even finding where they were. We got on the first one which was going to Castellon - must only have been about 10 on it . After waiting for about 10 mins when no-one else got on we set off and got back to castellon about 1 ish.  I expect the other 10 coaches just went back to the depot later !
Not the best trip but still had a laugh

Never been in the away section at the Madrigal but from other parts of the ground, it looks like one great big upper tier with all round excellent views.
Looks can be deceiving. It was a toss up between watching through the thick perspex right at the front and therefore being disconnected from the action on the pitch or doing a meercat impression whenever the action was at our end to try and see under/over/round the wide perspex casing. We went for the meercat option.

Club rep outside our entrance told me they had sorted 20 coaches..looking at the pre match travel natter on here not too many had mentioned coming in and out via Valencia..so seemed alot of coaches though think some intended for Castellon..as i got the train down from Valencia i knew where the train station was, not much info for those that didn't and the police escort to station over tannoy lasted about 30 yards from away entrance

We paid just less than 6 Euro's each on the train from Valencia to Villarreal and a free bus back to Valencia after the game.

General question for you lads.

In the past when I've watched Villarreal, I've notice what I took to be a number of flags of Finland amongst their supporters. On Thursday they were there again and down by one of the corner flags there was a large banner which I couldn't make out exactly but which definitely had Finland written on it.

I had thought that perhaps the blue cross, white background flag was coincidentally the same flag as that particular Spanish region but maybe not? If there is a Finnish connection, what's that all about?

Not sure if it's the complete answer but there is a Finnish Supporters club apparently and they go quite a few games.

Absolutely shambolic situation after the game -- there were a number of LFC stewards i'd noticed before the game who  should have been directing and giving advice post match- the police naffed off after 50 yards and we were left follow a few supporters to the station 2-3 miles -the 11.35 to Castellon had gone by then. Someone suggested we travel up the road for 1/2 mile where we found a whole line of a dozen empty coaches - finally got on one and arrived in Castellon at around 12.15

That's where we got our coach to Valencia.
