Milner becomes the first player in history to create a sport, sign off the founding rules of the game, galvanise an entire nation in to regarding it as their national sport, seamlessly manage its transition to professional status and then pick up a league cup trophy (his second) 150 years later, after a decent penalty. Top career.

Thank you for this succinct summary of the early years of his magnificent career.

For sure, one of the Joys of following LFC is knowing that our children and grandchildren will get to enjoy doing the same thing we, like those who have come before us, have been able to do: watch Millie take the field for Liverpool.

18.4 RAWK posts per game for James Milner. Compare that to Thiago who is on 124.1 posts per game, and Mo who is on 82.1 ppg.

Proves to me that Mr No Nonsense leaves the talking points on the pitch.

Harvey Elliot is way out there on 185.8 ppg by the way.

Shaking his head there after a challenge that left the Norwich lad on the ground. Probably thinking this game use to be a contact sport when i made my debut in the twentieth century.

Oops sorry James you are not that old 😉

Don't remember him ever letting us down when he's played full back. Will barely let you down in general but his performances on the left or right have been great.

Milner got a years extension right?
For a player to be good enough to play for Liverpool, he must be prepared to run through a brick wall for me then come out fighting on the other side.

Same was shaky in some parts but overall had some great passes and broke up play well. Good game from him.

So, so good today. Probably a toss up for MOTM with Keita/Gomez IMO. Hopefully on in midweek to see us through to another Champions League final.

Got to admit I wasn’t a fan of seeing him in the lineup but he’s gone and proven me wrong.

Never lets us down, surprising a fair few doubt his selection but he keeps showing why he’s a valuable asset to have around and use as a squad player.

Before the game, I was a bit concerned that a trio of Milner, Henderson, and Keita might be our weakness in this game. Then I remembered they started against Man Utd at OT this season.

Yeah something was going wrong with him. He looked either upset, or was feeling the earlier knock to the head

A lovely tribute for Milly from the manager he clearly loves the guy.
