He's been playing in Europe since he was 18. Do you really think the best player Guinea have ever produced didn't get discovered until he was 28?

Ehhhh what's a little casual racism?  ::) ::) ::) ::)

Just a tad.

I mean even ignoring that, the guy has had countless injuries which would quite clearly have impacted his athleticism.

Yep - which seems to be fully ignored by many. We know he's had good games and shown flashes - but we can also pretty clearly see how each successive injury has impacted him more and more.

Surely for the money we pay for these guys and the wages we pay them, we'd be better off giving them titanium skeletons and some kind of replacement for muscle?
"All the lads have been talking about is walking out in front of the Kop, with 40,000 singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'," Collins told BBC Radio Solent. "All the money in the world couldn't buy that feeling," he added.

He is probably the case he wont play when he has any sort of niggle.
You think someone like Salah & VVD dont have muscle or joint pain.
Keita hasn't had a serious injury at Liverpool just niggles every week.

now on international duty nearly April 2023 just says it all really.

Biggest transfer disappointment as a LFC fan, seems to have started as soon as that away game at at Napoli with the back injury after a bright start, then his Sadist Guinea manager playing him injured with a groin strain both times that week that eventually kept him out 51 days.

He was written off probably 2/3 years ago by the same people who moan and make the same points every single time he gets injured ;D

Why bother, he's clearly done at the club. He's probably managed to get himself below Arthur in the pecking order. Genuinely might as well lock the thread until he leaves because its just going to be a sad wank echo chamber full of shit.

If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

I think the internationals where he was played while not only unfit but actively carrying an injury pretty much ruined him as a player. Massively impacts not just your physicality but your bravery if you don't feel like you can trust your body - like how Sturridge couldn't/wouldn't sprint anymore towards the end of his time with us.

Exactly that. Dreadful reffing in England probably didn't help either, no protection for players at all.

I really feel for him. He's a really good player but his body lets him down time after time. It must be incredibly frustrating for a professional sportsman. Imagine having his talent but being prevented from showing it on any consistent basis.

Sad end to would could've been a perfect relationship. The injuries have definitely taken a toll on him unfortunately which is sad because he is IMO a fantastic player when fully fit. Still, I'll remember him for the below rather than anything else.

Exactly. Who really cares any more when he gets injured or 'injured'? It no longer affects Liverpool. Even in a team - especially in a team? - that is radically underperforming, you wouldn't want Naby Keita in the starting XI.

We haven't had many duds in the last 6 or 7 years. I can't think of another actually. So we shouldn't get too upset by Keita. Our overall record under Jurgen is exceptional.

Even when he's played he's not been good so not a huge loss, but it's still really irritating that he gets an injury every time he plays. He'll be snapped up because he's free and a decent age but yeah, what a waste.

Unfortunately for him, he'll probably never play for LFC again. That money will be better spent on a more durable* replacement. I hope*.
