Who thinks the Browns will actually part with the 12th overall pick for Jimmy G? I think that'd be an insane move by the Browns and would further prove how much of a pathetic team they are. The only argument I've seen supporting the idea of that exact trade is that he's won a couple of games when Brady was out ;D.

Lol, would be typical of the Browns to make such a silly trade. Atleast Cassel proved himself over a season all those years back as Brady's backup before he got traded, but it smacks of absolute desperation by the Browns to pick an unproven backup QB just on the basis of him winning a couple of games in Belichick's system. Heck, even their 3rd string QB came in and blew away the Texans the following week after Jimmy G got injured.

People just never learn that the Patriots make players better than they are. Kyle fucking Van Noy just won a ring and he was probably the worst linebacker in the league in Detroit.
Maybe the group, led by your leadership, will see these drafts as PR functions and brilliant use of humor

Anybody heard of the Eugenie Bouchard story? ;D.

She made a comment on Twitter about predicting the Falcons would win when they were battering the Pats. A guy commented saying "if Patriots win we go on a date?" To which she replied "sure" without actually thinking 'what if the Pats come back and win?' :lmao

She stayed true to her word and went on a date with the guy.

Agreed it is mind boggling

I know it's hindsight but for 198 players to get drafted before the greatest sportsman of all time is ludicrous.
Jesus Christ Mate. I lived in New England and like the Pats. But ascribing everything to Brady is a bit ridiculous. Great QB, yes, but let us not start saying he won everything on his own, yeah?

If there is one outstanding individual in the game it is Bill Belichick. Call him whatever, but the dude gets the players and coaches them to play in a system and wins rings. If you love Rafa Benitez, you love Belichick.

greatest sportsman of all time.

comparing eras is daft, the game changed a lot between Montana & Brady & became a lot more QB friendly. Comparing all sports over all eras & declaring someone the greatest sportsman of all time, mind boggling

Can someone answer me a question regarding the Combine, how are the players selected to take part? is it the top so many rated college players invited? do the highest rated proposed picks still have to take part?

Interesting times ahead with the free agency and draft coming up. I hope Packers will be a bit unlike themselves this offseason and get help at cornerback and/or pass ruher in free agency. With Shields retiring we can't rely on new draftees / the current guys to be fill that number one corner slot.

Bills re-sign Tyrod Taylor for 5 years (well, 2 years guaranteed, then yearly options).  Makes perfect sense to me - couldn't understand why they were thinking of moving on, given how bad the free agent / draft QB class is.
Bryan Hoyer going to the 49ers to join Kyle Shanahan.
And Tony Romo being released by the Cowboys.

It was always very unlikely that Bennett would re-sign with the Super Bowl Champions.

I always liked Allen when he played at Clemson and he's shown flashes in the National Football League - another good spot by the Hoodie  ;D

Re-sign Hightower!

And Tony Romo being released by the Cowboys.
inevitable given the rise of Dak Prescott, a good analysis of why Dallas have to do this can be found here.  The complexities of NFL contracts under the salary cap is crazy!

Mixed feelings about this, time to move on but big worries if and when Dak gets injured...

At cornerback it looks like they're signing Stephon Gilmore from the Bills. Surprised they're willing to splash out on a top quality free agent.  But that sounds like they're moving on from Logan Ryan.

Nope: it's Malcolm Butler they're looking to move on -

@diannaESPN
The New England Patriots are considering trading Malcolm Butler to the New Orleans Saints for Brandin Cooks per sources

Jeez: when will teams learn the #1 NFL lesson - Never trade with BB.

Agreed.

Keeping Butler and teaming him alongside Gilmore would give us a great starting duo at the cornerback position.

Really weird move from Texans perspective, or am I missing something? Browns get two picks (6th 2017, 2nd 2018) and Osweiler for one pick (4th 2017). Wasn't the biggest hit from Osweiler's contract last year anyway?

That sounds far too sensible to be a decision made by the Browns.
Osweiler must feel utterly humiliated knowing even the Browns don't want him.

The Texans must be close to a deal on Romo - they're essentially saying to themselves that a 2nd round pick plus a salary dump is worth it to get Romo for a few years. They're not far away from challenging in a weak AFC (Pats excepted). They wouldn't go this just to put Tom Savage as QB.

Browns really are doing smart things. They'll have all the draft picks this year and next. DePodesta is really shaking things up. Just hope that for their sake they can learn how to scout college players.
