I guess we’re just doing full match threads now? Fair.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Fabinho been so bad. The drop off from him is astonishing.

He's been overplayed because there's no one else.
Thank Fowler we're not getting Caulker

Remember, the only reason people criticise Trent defensively is because he’s absolutely world class. :lmao

That's as bad as it's been all year, very fortunate to be just a goal behind. Time for the boss to earn his corn

Maybe it’s time to go back to basics.

D fuckin minus! Can and must do better. Falling asleep in class for 30 mins is not acceptable!

We are looking okay going forward but a bit shambolic in defence, this has me worried a little and is becoming a pattern.

On the other side of the ledger, you have to give Brighton credit. That's some decent one touch football they played the first 20 minutes, probably a better stretch of play than we've had at any time this season.

You would hate to think what Potter can do for Chelsea if given some time.

Lackluster. I have no idea what role Trent is playing. He is even more untethered from RB today than the other matches this season. What are Klopp and Lijnders thinking?

we need to change the system.
Trent is basically playing a free role not as a RB

if so maybe go 3 at the back
yes I noticed that, when Konate is back then maybe we do that, we definitely need to do something quickly or top 4 is way out of reach
However if something serious happens to them I will eat my own cock.

We have players to come off the bench. The biggest worry is our lack of reassurance at the back.

This incarnation of the team is finished as a competitive force, they either don't have the legs or the attitude to go to the well again. The unlikely scenario where we get 3 points won't change the massive rebuild required.

The break did wonders for us, we look much much better team thanks to that.

On serious note, had it not been for Alisson we’d be 4 nil down...

Feels like certain players are not up to standards but they’re still playing.

Words fail me how bad our defending was for both their goals.

1st goal- Not clearing our lines properly. Just lazy as fuck.

2nd goal - What was Trent even playing at there? Thought Alisson could have done better as well.

What in the name of God was that. I was ready to blame the sun in the eyes but it wouldn't explain the shite decision making in the final third. Also why was Trent trying for an assist in his own penalty area?

Brighton should've been 3 up inside 15 minutes.  Probably could've had another right before halftime there.

We're lucky to only be down 1.  That certainly gives us a way back.  Should have enough on the bench to get back in it and win.

Dear me we look atrocious. I know we are covering old ground but we don’t have a midfield. It’s non existent. I grew up in an era when the first thing the team had to do was control the midfield. Then you control the match.

Midfield not really influencing the game defensively or attacking wise. All 3 of them are flat and off their games today. Carvalho trying his best but another not influencing the game as much as we'd like. He's showing for the ball and making runs but not quite clicking on that flank with tsimikas. Need more interplay between those two (that's if he doesn't get subbed for Diaz)

It’s the same shit every match.

The fact we’re now 2 months into the season and it’s still the same tells you there’s a serious issue, I’m just not sure what it is.

Always felt fanciful that Thiago returning would transform it, especially as he was on the pitch when we played similarly away at Fulham, albeit not for long.

Regardless of whether we manage to scrape a point or 3 from this game, it won't gloss over some serious issues with the team as a collective. Easy to look at individuals but I see too many for it to be just a personell problem.

Just not understanding our approach, we're slow to every ball, every touch and pass is half arsed and telegraphed. It's obvious we are not training with anything like the required intensity, as we have zero intensity on the pitch.

Intls are not an excuse here.

Main Problems with us this season, midfield is too old and doesn’t have the pace to press like we did in 2018, Salah & firmino also lost a step & sharpness, Trent is being allowed too much freedom so is leaving massive holes that our midfield just don’t have the legs to cover. Matip isn’t the answer to fill right back when Trent is gone. All our young players need more time to develop. So we’re stuck in that transition phase. We need new blood ready to play that are young/fast enough for Klopp’s system.

Even the like of Van Dijk is not looking good at the moment. It's not just the midfield but people panicking at the back as well. It's an all-round problem at the moment. The biggest issue for me is where we are using Trent, I don't get what we're doing with him anymore.

I think the midfield is a cause of our issues at the back, at least partially, Fabinho looks a shadow of his former self and Hendo is just running round like a headless chicken. If we don't get top 4 though, not only will we have less money to invest but also the likes of Bellingham won't consider coming here.

However if something serious happens to them I will eat my own cock.

We look a right mess again, even if we can come back into this game and get something we have major problems which will keep haunting us this season. Major investment is needed into this side, midfield needs an overhaul. The positions that Trent is being asked to take up are absurd and its doing him and the side no favours. Worrying times but we've got firepower off the bench that could save us today.
