I hate that in every single presser they ask Kenny the same bloody things, assess Andy Carroll , assess Luis Suarez's contribution, what about your contract... jaysus cant they just think of something original to ask

This weeks press conference was more or less the same as last weeks, just questions about Spearing's extension and the Fulham match was the only difference.

Watching todays press conference with Kenny and you could tell journo's are almost as frightened of him as they are of Fergie should they say the wrong thing.  Although Dalglish uses a bit of piss take humour when replying to something which he doesn't like or agree with, whereas Fergie will not disguise his contempt for any journo who annoys him.

Laughed at the exchange with some journo called 'vinny', when he asked about Carra and his number of performances.  Kenny said something along the lines of 'I answered that last week'.  Journo replied 'I wasn't here' and Kenny quick as a flash replied, 'you never miss a press conference Vinny, you were sat right there'.

I don't know why I feel the need to say this at this very moment in time, but I really REALLY feel Kenny Dalglish deserves to be knighted. Even if he wasn't we all know that he's a great man and we don't need a title to know this.

I think of the great work he did for those affected by Hillsborough.

I look at the comments he made today about how youth teams should be used for development and not for glory / winning youth trophies.

The things he says and the way he says them are something special. The man has an aura ... a humanitarian quality. The club and the people were crying for someone like him to step into the breach.

On a personal level his presence in the dugout, the way he conducts his interviews, etc, etc ... well it gives me an immense amount of joy and satisfaction.

He's a great man.

In my eyes he's already Sir Kenny Dalglish.

His shirt was very.... what should I say....
One thing does need to be said: in the post-Benitez era, there was media-led clamour (but also some politicking going on at the club) to make the club more English; the idea being that the club had lost the very essence of what it means to be ‘Liverpool’. Guillem Ballague 18/11/10

I agree that the now is not the right time, but it certainly needs to be sorted out for the start of the summer break so that everybody knows where they stand, especially the players. It is important that there is clarity about who will be responsible for any summer transfer business.

You honestly think the players don't already know?

The Americans know how to create bang.

Into the summer.... June perhaps, John Henry appears in a press conference and announced

" Fellow Reds, I am privileged to announce the confirmation of Sir Kenny Dalglish as the manager of Liverpool Football Club. There is no contract, no tenure. He can stay for as long as he wishes, because he acts on the wishes of The Liverpool Family. "

The way he handles the press is excellent. He answered the Utd question excellently. Kenny oozes class. This man has to be our manager next season. He personifies this club and everything it stands for. class, dignity, honour and respect.

People were talking before he got the job again, about how he "had been out of the game too long". We all knew it was bollocks.

But he says in his book that he never liked dealing with the press, and that he didn't know what to say (I recall one excellent bit when one journalist asked him "What do you say to the people that are calling you monosyllabic, Kenny?". In his book he said he couldn't resist and just replied "What?" before walking off :lmao).

Maybe the break out of football did him good with the whole dealing with the press thing. Allowed him to sit back and look how other people dealt with it maybe?

I don't know, i'm just thinking out loud I guess...just seems that he's a far cry from how he used to act.

I am way too young to remember Kenny's first run as manager but the way he handles the press now, it's hard to beleive that he ever found it difficult. I have only Mourinho and Ferguson handle the press anywhere near this well. it seems that reporters think twice about the questions they ask in fear that Kenny will just make them look stupid or in fear of offending him. A far cry from how the press would treat Rafa.

It is hilarious that people keep telling him what the fans want. Like Kenny doesn't know any better.

Actually, we didn't all know.  In fact, a large section of our support were against it.  And you can be sure that the suits were against it, probably advising the Americans not to do it with bollocks like "If you put him in and it doesn't work out, you'll never get rid of him.".  It's actually a really good sign and great credit to them that Henry and co. listened to the right people and did take a chance on him.

And lo and behold, it appears that the game hasn't changed that much.  It's still played with a round ball and 11 players and Kenny appears to know how to get the players to play it pretty well.  It makes me sick to think of all the opportunities lost because of incompetence at the top.  But, at least, we are getting a chance to try to rectify some of the damage done now.

A few things i want to mention regarding kennys post match interview after the fulham game.

1. He says EVERYTHING the way it should be. Man is fantastic and knows what to say to every possible question.

2. Interesting thing he said about carra. Talking about replacing him but saying he has a few more appearences in him. could we be see carra playing less games next year? Looks like he wants a new cb when he said "Im sure he has a few more (appearences) in him, but we got to look at that for next year" or something along those lines.
