@ Tony

Overground from Euston to Shepherds Bush

10 minute bus journey from Shephards Bush to Fulham

Max journey time from Euston to Fulham without the tube, even in rush hour is between 60-80 minutes. And the Hammersmith and City line will probably still be running a service anyway.

I get what you mean, but these aren't good enough excuses. You can't grind to a halt because one method of transportation stops in supposedly one of the world's major cities.

Indeed i worked in London for a bit and you budget an hour to get across it.
No time for caution.

It's a clear stunt to try and worm themselves out of the game. We should put out a statement immediately questioning the legitimacy of the potential postponement. If the other London matches go ahead and this doesn't then it will be a travesty.

Check google earth to see how close Craven Cottage is to the River Thames. Then look at Arsenal and Hammers. You'll see why it might be the only postponement.

Nonsense, the river actually helps by providing an extra source of transport.

Bollox. They're not using flooding as their rationale, simply the tube strike.

Understandable if it was for flood warnings, but this has no impact on the reasons outlined by Fulham.

This is bullshit. Fulham being small time bastards, hope they go down. This strike has been known for about a month, and only 24 hours before are they making a statement that it could be a problem. Fuck that, I hope the FA/Premier League flat out refuses this, but that would require them to be somewhat competent.

Fulham statement:
Quote
"If the proposed action is still undetermined at 15:00 GMT on Tuesday, and the club cannot guarantee enough staff are available to attend the ground in sufficient time and numbers, then the club would not be able to comply with the terms of its safety certificate and the fixture would be postponed and rescheduled for a future date."

Tony Barrett @TonyBarretTimes
I'm trying to see this one from all sides (club, workers etc) but when it comes down to it it's madness. The game shouldn't be in any doubt. This wave of strikes was announced on Jan 10. Fulham have had a month to come up with a contingency but only put out a statement today.

Nailed it.

This postponement would be scandalous.  Especially in light of other London games taking place that evening.

Why. Always. Us?

Obviously Fulham are doing their best to riggle out, how come they played last week?

Bollocks this. Also if Everton and Spurs win an we've not played it just puts that little bit of pressure on us. Much sooner have the points on the board than the games in hand.

all these excuses about it being a tough to reach area, and the met polic civilian strikes - the club have not said any of those are an issue. it's just that some of their 300 stewards might struggle to make it to the match. if thats the only risk theyve assessed in their application to their local council, then i think its safe to say its easily solveable. taxi, bus, piggy back - no fucking excuse for these soft c*nts.

they should also be banned from having the game televised if its postponed, and it should be 48 hours before another of their games - thursday 6th march as i said. we play on the monday, they play on the saturday. we cant let them take the piss by putting the game just before spurs at home

Some pathetic crying in here.

The games not even been postponed yet.

If it is postponed at 3pm tomorrow, and every other games in London goes ahead, yes, we have cause to be annoyed.

If the game is announced as going ahead at 3pm tomorrow then this will all have been for nothing.

I personally think we should be pressuring Fulham to get the game on, we need to keep the momentum up massively after Saturday

I hope the club protest about this in the strongest possible way, it's really a load of bullshit. Busses are still running, and let's look at this rationally, most stewards are fans of their respective clubs, and when it comes to Fulham they have a small localised fanbase, there are not OOTs coming from all over the city to work as stewards, it's just a small time excuse using people's misery and potential job losses so that players earning thousands a week don't want to play two games of football in a week.
Thinking is overrated.
The mind is a tool, it's not meant to be used that much.

Boro got deducted 3 pts in 1996 for postponing a game v Blackburn at short notice due to illness and injury. The FA must apply the same punishment to Fulham if this gets called off, they've had plenty of time to make arrangements.

Only potential positive would be if the game was not played until much later in the season and Fulham were already down.  But it won't be put back that far esp with neither team in Europe.

That GIF gets me every time, what's the context?
That was ahead of a match in the second half of last season(I think we won it eventually) and Rodgers was speaking about the 2 midfield "configurations" he preferred as well as their pros and cons.

A "1-2" and a "2-1". I can't remember the detail though.
