What an imperious performance... Just needs to curb the silly nips at ankles in our half.

I hope it's not a serious injury.

There was a moment in the second half just couple moments before the injury where he cut through the midfield with a simple touch and move, like a hot knife through butter.

Hope it's nothing serious.

Really hope he’s okay. We have the depth in midfield to cope, but it will still be a blow.

Klopp told the club’s official website the following: “The only little bit that overshadowed [Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace] was Thiago, but we hope it is not serious.

“He felt his calf and now we hope really it is not that serious.”

The muted reception to him in the PL and our own fan base is becoming weird … feels like people just don’t know how to evaluate CMs? …. He’s been world class pretty much since he arrived and was probably the most influential player in us getting top 4 last season - ran the last 10 games

On the injuries it’s the downside of signing him, he doesn’t play full seasons - yet to record 30 league starts in a season … the hope is his spells out aren’t long and don’t coincide with big games

Yeah, it doesn't make much sense. When he first joined, the main criticism seemed to be he wasn't tough enough or wouldn't be able to handle the physicality of the league. Clearly that wasn't the case.

His injury history is a shame, but we should have enough numbers in midfield to cope when he's out. Based on the comments from Ljinders today, I doubt we will see him back before the international break, meaning he will miss the match against Manchester City.

I hope it's not one of those stealth injuries we've had over the last few years.
Doesn't look bad at the time and the initial news is OK, then misses a few and then every update is a case of "not ready yet", then before you know it, it's a 6 week injury.

That would be my fear, especially with the run of games we have coming up. Let's just hope that's not the case and we have him back in the next few weeks.

I think Ljinders said at the press conference that they would see the scan results later today. Does anyone know anything further?

He won’t make Porto. I remember Klopp saying once that if they have no chance for a weekend game then they have pretty much no chance for a game Tuesday or Wednesday. The hope would be he is back for City.

It's not ideal, but I suppose this is maybe where it is good we have an international break rather than a midweek & another weekend fixture. Means he will be back for Watford hopefully.

The JurgenKlopp manoevre. Much more difficult than the Heimlich manoeuvre, as the former needs a goal to be scored by your team.

He may not have played that often with Fabinho and Hendo, but I think that that's our best midfield. Then we have Curtis, then Milner, and then a drop in quality. (I can't count Keita until he plays a few games in a month.) We miss Thiago, and we'll miss him every time he's injured until Curtis grown more into his role.

I hate it when Thiago is not in the team. He just brings a calm and control to proceedings. I still can’t believe that Spain didn’t utilise their one world class player during the euros but I’m thankful because he should have more minutes in his legs for us this season. I hope Enrique just stops selecting him - the weirdo.

I'm Sure Welshred can weigh in with more info on stuff. My guess it is probably pretty normal so he doesn't worsen it more with a calf injury injury probably not easy to walk as the injury recovers. Even if it a sprain for your ankle they will give clutches to just help out.

Done my calf a few weeks ago playing 5's.  Felt like I'd snapped it in half.....unbelievable pain.....could hardly walk or put weight on it.  Could have done with crutches myself!

But 2 weeks later all was ok again and back playing.  Seems it wasn't that serious, but my God the pain!

So thats my professional diagnosis.......he'll be fine and back in no time  ;D

Definitely can understand the crutches even if its not a serious strain.

He's as integral as Fabinho or Mo now, partly as he's a top player but also as nobody else can really do the same function in the team. He was signed because he offers something different.
